I put my alpine splits in my car today. All went in sweet as till I put the car back togeather, the car has electrical windows and the window touches the magnet of the speaker as it goes up. Its the white clip thing bolted to the glass that touches. It only just touches but I dont want it to wear the motor out over time.
Anyone else had this problem?
I did with my TP, it wasn't electric windows but i didn't want the window scraping against my MB's so i made a solid spacer from MDF to bring it out only 5mm and it was sweet.

I had a set of alpines in mine, i needed spacers because they scratched the tint off the glass when i rolled the window down. no problem after that. You should be able to buy plastic spacers from any car audio shop or you can make your own with mdf.

Can anyone say "Keep on topic?". Alpine are alright. Can YOU make better speakers? No I hear you say? well STFU then and go bake some cookies or something.

If my job was to make speakers and I had the budget that their R&D get, then the answer would be yes. The DIY speaker can be very potent.
How can you bag out the humble cookie, what did it do to you? Topic is over BTW, he has his answer.

I had the same problem with my Hertz HSK165's. My solution was to remove the white clip/tab thingy and i ground a bit off.
