hey guys, just a quick question,
went looking for a new car yesterday, the poor old magna is somwhat tired out, and im sick of replacing the uni joints (yes i know thats my fault) anywhoo, we were deciding between the 380 sports/vrx and the subaru liberty 08 model, 2.5ltr engine, so here is the question.
does anyone technologically minded know of any issues with the new libertys, im not terribly interested in the 07 model issues, were buying new. unfortunatly the 380 lost by a hair, its just abit too big for the missus to drive comfortably, any knowledge you can impart would be greatly appreciated.

From what I have read, and been told by an old boss of mine who has an 05 liberty GT, they are very sound, refined and comfortable cars to drive. He has had no mechanical faults with his. His has the 2.0 litre engine though so I cant speak for the 2.5 engines except that one of my sisters friends has one in the gen3 body and he hasnt forked out a dollar after 2 years.

the only down side to the subaru is if you do mostly highway driving the centre diffs can stuff up after a while. basically because they just work at the same speed as the front they seize up. this happened to my sister in law's liberty. but when i say a while i mean quite a while, like over 100,000kms. if you do a lot of city driving it will be fine.

The 08 libertys are too new to give detailed review with any problems but from what i have read they are good cars, and with alot of dealers and shops stocking subaru parts there a great option.

From what i have been told there is nothing i know of (major problem wise).
