Maybe darken the slats of the grille?
As for the black surround, I reckon it would work best if you did it inside the lense, and also with a dark charcoal rather than black. Try to match the para style as closely as possible.

gonna sound like a sheep here but i agree with above
pull the lense itself apart and spray the edges with a dark charcoal from inside and then put it back together
will still look stock from straight on but on the angle will appear "different" and only a magna enthusiast will pick it
to everyone else it'll just be "different" without them knowing why

heheh my TS is a daily so i don't keep spending huge amounts of $$$ in petrol running a V8 daily
as for mods they will be purely asthetic
although i said that with the calais and it now owes me $12K b4 a respray :nuts:
Orange corners for the win!!
I dunno I kinda like the clear lights with the para's. Black surround makes em look em better imo. Orange looks a bit stock to me.

you really don't like the orange huh?
Did you know that orange corners mean that its the top model in mitsi cars from that time. Only Verada have them form the magna line, only evos have them from the lancer line.
orange is better:poke: .
Uncle Andy, paras look good, but that grill needs to have something done with it imo. Letterbox grill would look sweet, don't ever think i have seen one in white.

+1 vote for clear sides, contrast can be good but i prefer the subtletys of clears and having 2 distinguished colours on my car... i always go for class too...
can't wait for my tr tail-lights + special tinting...

What GoTRICE said
Less colors, doesnt make them orange things stand out like dogs balls
When tinting the side just get a can and spray the edge so you get a nice blended effect, if you use tape you use a sharp cut off....sorta looks too abrupt

Howdy all;
I was going to leave them (indicators) the way they are for now cause its a subtle difference and maybe tint them with nightshade or similar at a later stage. As for the grill that should be done on saturday, weather pending (its blacker than the inside of a ducks gut out side and it aint cause the sun is going down)
Hopefully the rear lights and clear side repeaters turn up soon and ill get the whole lot done in one go.
Stay tuned more comming soon :P
Thanks for the kind comments everyone

bad ideas of the 90's, red plastic all over the back of cars, orange indicators in the front sides and back, looks crap. parras, slightly tinted clear indicators and side repeaters and verada tail lights with colour coded garnish ftw, simple and very nice

Howdy all;
Ive just finished the grill and i reckon its come up a treat. Ive devided to use the blue of the inside of my car to start accenting the outside. hence the blue grill and maybe soon some subtle blue pinstriping to match (like the current red and black but blue and black)
Anyway enough rambling here are the pics
Enjoy

Nope it was pretty much sand it down a bit, base coat, more sanding between coats of base and white, then around 5 coats of clear with some light sanding in betewwn. the only reason it took so long is cause i have no time but weekends to do thigs and even then its taken up by other activities.
Thanks for the kind comments so far
