Does anyone know if a 215 wide tyre will fit on a standard 15 x 6 inch rim? Standard size is 205/65/R15. I'm thinking about 215/60/R15 for my next set. If it does fit do you think the tyre would still perform properly on that rim width (I suppose ideal would be 6 1/2 inches)?

Should be fine as 3rd gens veradas have 215/60R16 on 16x6 rims. Your speedo will read
1.2% faster, that is, if it says you are doing 60kph you are actually doing 59.3kph, no big
deal.

Or better yet, WheelMaster (http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp).
Go for it.
I had Pirelli P5000 Drago 215/60/15 on 15x6 rims. Lasted 51000 km, excellent grip on wet road, at $134 a corner it was one of the best tyres I had on magna. That was in 2002.
Replaced Pirellis with Yokohama A539 215/60/15, good grip on dry not that good on wet, after 35000 km changed to 17" wheels

Yeah. I've got to get something with better grip. There are Goodyear Eagle GAs on it now, 205s, and they seem to have no grip at all. It's wet here in Brisbane tonight and the car was slithering all over the place on the way home. Just doesn't feel safe. I need to get better quality, wider and grippier tyres.
