Does anyone have at hand the as forged metal specification for late model Mitsu V6 cranks and conrods. I'm a bit puzzled, as a collegue of mine claimed that Nb was being substituted which in my view would give us very crappy and microcrack prone components if stressed.

or could get some old ones from wreckers, cut and polish a couple of sections and have a look under our SEM with microprobe.

that will give some compositonal and textural info, from which it could be possible to work out the phases present.

But geez that's over the top.
