View Full Version : Debadging the Verada

Ok so my stepdad debadged his Holden Crewman the other day, and I have to say it did look better without the Holden adverts all over the place. Having I look at mine on photoshop, I think it would look pretty good without them as well. What I'm thinking is to remove the standard 3.5, EI and Mitsubishi badges and adding a Mitsu logo in the middle at the top.

Do these badges use pins in addition to adhesive, or are they only stuck on the car?

Also any thoughts on taking them off?

Cheers!

yea a mate of mine suggested i do it to my verada, i had the 4 badges, similiar to yours, i went down to a pannel shop and they did it for me for $20 nice and polished, i was going to attempt it myself but didnt want to ruin the paint job, just incase....these badges are just stuck on,
funny thing is my mate suggested i use the same badge u hav in your cropped pic in the centre, although i prefer it without that centre badge, first debadge yours and see how u like it

p-plate kinda ruins the effect :P

i'm keeping mine on, but i can see why u want them off. imo dont put the mitsu logo on, or if you can, maybe look into getting it like a darker chrome, or just black? photoshop it again :P but yeah, i think if you want the logo off the front of a TL, that it will be a bit too big

lol, how much was the badge going for on ebay?
my mate was curious if u can get a badge of that size but in a dull redish colour similiar to the colour of the mitsubishi logo on the KH grill
i wasnt sure
and yea, wats with the P plates, kinda looks odd

That would look good but i would go for a smaller Mitsubishi trident badge...maybe like half the size of what you have photochopped.

I too am thinking of debading the 3.5 and Ei badges from the boot of my Verada, and possibly relocating the Verada badge from the bottom left corner of the boot lid to the bottom right corner.

i wasnt sure about the debadge idea either, thinking that between the tail light and the bottom of the bootlid wud look empty and odd.....but glad i listened to my mate, looks like sex without the badges, much better for it

it definetely looks better without all the badges, and i like the mitsubishi logo in the centre, but as others have suggested i would look at getting one a little bit smaller than the size you have photoshopped.

good luck with it and welcome to the club

I agree definately should debadge the P lol
Honestly dont make a difference, the P is darn irritating regardles whether you badge or debage I dont think it makes a big effect at the moment.

If its glue, its simply a hair blow dryer and something stiff but soft so you don't damage the paint, and be very gentle. My mate did it to his Astra and it came out a dream. I would just be careful with the heating though as i dont know how much heat the paint can withstand?

All the badges are stuck on with double sided foam tape. They come off better if you warm them up first.Hair dryer should do it, and it shouldn't be hot enough to damage the paintwork.

Yeh go smaller, the TJ's came with a 3 diamond symbol there about half the size, i've debadged my boot except for this symbol and reckon it looks pretty good:

Dude some rims .. please...

by the way with your exhaust system, are the ones on the left just fakes or are they connected to the whole system and actually work?

Cheers

Looks much better debadged.
Run fishing line behind the badge. They come off pretty easy I found.
Then rub the tape off which takes a while. I used a meth-spirits, chux cloth and fingernails.:)
Then give it a polish and wax.

Lol M4DDOG you have a great looking exhaust system and steel wheels :bowrofl:

Yeah that smaller one does look better, if I decide to use one I will get one of them.

Heat up the badges with a hairdryer (not for too long otherwise it'll ruin the paint) and then slowly run fishing line behind them. It'll come right off. I used a goo remover to get rid of any excess glue. It was in an orange bottle and I got it from Coles - it was specially designed apparently to remove glue without stripping paint. Gave the car a wash and then gave the area a quick polish and voila :)

I agree with what the others have said. If you want a Mitsubishi diamond badge, at least put the smaller one off the TJ series on. You've already got the chrome Verada strip though - I reckon you could do away without the diamond.

i did mine last week. Just got mums hair dryer onto it till it seemed to be a bit looser. Then just pryed it off with a knife. Got the remaining glue off with wax and grease remover. Then polished it up. Looks good.

Well today when I gave the car a quick wash (even though it was raining the mud was to much for my 5 day old baby!) I took the badges off. Looks GREAT!! So much cleaner!

And yeah, someone stole it the other day and I haven't gotten around to getting another one. It has one on the front!

next on the list;

--Dewing - verada's look weird with it

--De Mud flap - cause colourcoded mudflaps are for old people and if your planning to lower it they will be a pain.

--Nice set of wheels. 19s preferably

--Sunroof!!!!

Then your car will look like mine

Hey MitchellO can you please tell what the dimensions (W x H) are of the Mitsubishi Trident badge you removed from the lower left of your boot lid? Is the Trident badge part of the MITSUBISHI worded badge next to it or are they both separate badges? I think the Trident badge might be the perfect size for a mod I have planned but I need someone to please confirm the dimensions first!

Yes the trident badge is separate to the Mitsubishi logo. I don't have the badge with me at the moment, I will get the measurement and post back.

My missus has the car now, she already managed to gutter rash one within the first month of having the car. So they had to go.

Yes yes people I did have yet another set of wheels on my car at one stage. Some 17" chromies
