Any decent auto or electronics shop should have relays. Search the forum for instructions
on wiring them up. I wrote one a long time ago.

Pay one of the members here for the trouble and ask him to send it to you if you cant get the kit.

you have a TH which have square holes holes for these lights (http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k184/sirhrt/Driving%20Lights/sportsvrx.jpg)
those will look silly
And I just noticed those one by the OP aren't street legal as they don't have a diffuser or
beam shaper like the ones ashneel posted which means they blind oncoming traffic or ones
you are following. I know, cos I had one of those in my KS and got pulled over by a cop
and he gave me a canary.

im sure the legal clause for that question goes something along the lines of:
"it is up to the intended purchases to determine whether or not this product is suitable/legal for use in thier country/state/region"
sucks tho - i could never understand why they auto stores would sell stuff that might not be legal, coz all the cool stuff that i want, falls under the illegal for street use category :(

half the mods on everyones cars are illegal. who cares.
1> there will be two wires, hook the +/- to the battery and install a switch in the car. doesn't get much simpler than that.
2> when you install them and angle them down slightly.

Pretty sure a relay is used so that your switch doesn't have the full current running through it.

A relays purpose is to isolate high current from the switch. The current from the battery
goes to the relay and then to the lights. One end of the switch is connected to the ground
of a parker light and the other goes to the relay. This way, if the parkers is on and you
flick the spotties switch, current flows through the coil in the relay which pulls the switch
inside the relay closing the cicuit which then accepts power from the battery to the
spotties. The following is the correct diagram

He'll know what to do if he he's been paying attention in class...lol The reason you don't draw direct power from the parkers is cause they will dim and cause too much current load On the supply line if you try power all the lights.
EDIT: also you can't get any simpler then the diagrams posted in this thread....it's actually pretty simple once you have the relay in your hand.

now that is a good explanation.....but the thing is...why do you say....HOOK them up to the parkers... arent they meant to be driving lights... and parkers is the notch before headlights.. so to have them running ill have to switch to PARKERS...which then disables my headlights....or do parkers stay on with the headlights?
i havent owned a car long enough to notice such a minor thing...

Parkers stay on even in high beam. Also mention to your mate that cars are ground
switched so be sure to hook up the switch side to the ground wire of the parkers and not
the power line. See here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51786) for more info.

its legal to have fogs on, but only with parkers (something about not allowed more than one lot of lights more than 55W or so), so fogs+parkers during the day=legal, fogs+headlights = illegal
*Edit* basing this off normal 'driving lights' stock standard things, not high powered hellas :P

Fog lights can only be used in adverse conditions like FOG and heavy rain. Most if not all
factory fitted ancillary lights are fog lights. Driving lights can only be used in non-built up
areas like country roads and not if there is traffic approaching within 200m and not if there
is traffic (going the same direction) within 200m ahead of you.

alright. you seem to be the 1 with the right facts....
yeahs i do live in country...and every 1 roles around with em on here....even cops......they are used mostly to prevent a kangaroo or other rodant accidents..seeing the beam shines so low and along the ground..ROAD KILL up here keeps all the spray/panel beaters in buisness.....there is probly 3 car involved accidents a year here........my freind traveling up from melbourne on early saturday morning tore the front half of his car off when he clipped a wombat.....he hit it because his high beams overlooked the large bloody mouse"
but my hopes have been shatterd....i have to remove everything in the front to install these golf ball. LAMPS (cant drill on an angle) (Sorry lucifer i hit the P when i was typing causing the word "plamps")
soo.....any 1 got some REAL foggies they wanna sell.....or were can i get em.....

Back to the arugment about legality of driving with driving/fog lights on, it seems everyone up here (Townsville) has them on while driving at night? If it's illegal, why don't I see anyone pulled over for it?

could you imagine the fine.....EXUSE ME SIR.. Can you flick that switch off....
now!!!
thatl be $230 and 3 demerit points..... for being greedy and having to much light in your path...
fog lights arent bright.....and they certanlty dont shine in your eyes....
the beam is very precise and shines parallel with the road....
PARAS....halogen......xenon... or what eva they are...THEY ARE BRIGHT ASSSSSS....and very dangerous i think......i nearly crashed when i looked an oncoming BMW and noticed the colours of its BRIGHT headlights changed as i got closer drawing my attention away from the road and and right towards the prick....

it may depend on state, but i have just heard the ruling of cant have more than a certain wattage, so perfectly legal to have parkers and lights on... depends on wat would clasify as driving lights and fog lights... i know the DPI has been putting ads in the paper, see it every now and then and it states the rule about them, to remind people :P
(ps for the record i hardly use the verada ones, hardly notice a difference, only use parkers + fogs if driving in daylight (long shadows) or northbridge tunnel during the day :))

driving lights and fog lights...Whats the difference.?....and how do the cops know....how many cops carry around a multester or a wattage tester....
and matter of fact....how often do cops pick on you for stock standard parts......
i love driving with foggies.....makes a massive differance having the ground right infront of you lit up.......gives you a range to play and correct with if something does happen in the dark.....

ok see if i can clear a few things up for you
ALL lights on your car must not be independent of your tail lights so wiring ya fog lights to ya parker relay then to another switch isn't a bad idea
if you have ever driven in fog b4 you will know that your headlights simply reflect back at you anyway and the idea of "true" foggies is to put out a wide flat beam that lights up the road under the fog
driving lights are different
they must not be able to be used without your high beams and as such really should not be used in town
want the best of both worlds go out and spent the $$$ on a good set of combos (fog inside driving lights outside) and use a heavy duty 2 stage relay for em
fog lights running off ya parkers switches on the relay into the switch in ya car
driving lights take over when you hit ya high beams regardless where ya interior switch is
your 3rd year app sparky should know how to wire em up

These particular lights, and most of the ones certain cars come equipped with as standard, probably officially classify as "daytime running lights" rather than either fog or driving lights.

DRL's are not for you to see more but for others to see you more clearly.
Google it up, heaps of info on it on the net.
Some Swedish manufactures have them as standard and Germans are starting to look into them. NRMA has urged manufacturers to employ them here in Australia

No harm in getting foggies, look great and they do light up a bit of road in front of the car just before where the headlights beam is prominent.
I suggest you get driving lights and/or lights which disburse the beam widely on the road, low down on the bumper. The driving lights can also go behind the grill and be wired to go on when you hit the high beam. There is a thread where someone has done this quite well. The foggies won't do much for you in terms of extra light, I do not think so. I say that because I have a sports TF with factory foggies and can vouch for the illumination.
PM Heath Young, he is the guru for all lightning stuff. He helped me select the H4 globes and he also has a great write up on 3rd gen lights on this forum which at one stage was a sticky

You're better off scoring some second hand mitsubishi lights, will bolt straight in and will be alot better than the cheap autobarn variety. Should be able to pick up a pair 2nd hand for less than $150, look around wreckers/trading post/ebay even post a wtb thread on here.

Dont the ones in the inner square or the outer lights go on only when that side's indicator is on?
btw, if light output is what you desire the most then driving light and upgrading your globes is a better option.
There you go, I searched the FAQ re 3rd gen lights for you. Enjoy

its not so much the BRIGHTER LIGHTS option.. my head lights are plenty bright.
its the MORE LIGHTS deal. i reckon a car with 4 to 6 lights looks so sick.(those being ALL SEPERATE)
low beam pod
high beams pod
fogs or drivinglights..
much like the BMW setup
and i LOVE demon eyes/angle eyes what eva the called
i dont want a dodgey BUNDY UTE MUSTER lookin thing
with 19 stoplights on the roof and 20 lightforce beams on the front lol.
just somethin smick and slick.CUSTOM lights but nothin over the top...thats why i liked the maxima setup

Agree with you, it looks nice as long as it is not over the top.
In this case, go with M4DDOG's recommendations and score original foggies which will slot right in and you could use the golf ball's on either side of your numberplate or behind your grill as close to the headlights as possible or either side of the mit logo? Would look sweet when lit up behind the grill and won't look too 'in your face' during the day as they would hardly be visible.

HMMM your suggestions are good but they have already crossed my mind. i thought about the foggies behinde the grill but i already have the suspended badge backlit. (green halo around it) and i dont want it to cancel out that effect.. it looks REALLY GOOD..
Foggies are a definate. but something more along the lines of GLASS, not that frosted headlight texure.
i found angel eyes on ebay.. is it possible to dismantle the headlights without damaging any seals. also is it possible to coat the backing black? seeing there is no reflective material on the outside cone of the VERADA headlights..
in this picture ive highlighted the GLOBE i want for my foggies. and how i want angel eyes around the headlight pods
