I bought a stand similar to this:

http://www.autotools.com.au/catalogue/product.php/10/447/1934

How the **** do I mount the engine onto it?

I've tried putting bolts thru the four little black things into the holes in the back of the block, but as soon as we lower the crane the bolts just bend and snap.

Any ideas?

Otherwise, anybody know where I can get a decent stand (or a cradle would be better) with wheels?

EDIT: Better pic:

The bolts have to be tight... And what hardness bolts? 8.8 @ least! (no will be on the top of the bolt)

Hmmm, anybody have any idea of the thread type/size etc on the rear of a 6G74?

Im gonna look like such a noob walking in asking for bolts and not knowing the thread size etc lol

Have you got the snapped bolt? Or is it not the right one? I'm stumped:confused:

Ive got one of the bent bolts for one of the smaller holes, but the bolts for the big holes are AWOL  probably tossed em when cleaning up.

the size of the bolts to bolt the engine to the stand are m12 x 1.75mm pitch. For the top bolts, they thread into the block, i used 4.6 galv ones cos i couldnt get any others. Works ok. With the bottom two, you need long bolts and nuts, also 12mm. 4.6galv is fine for this too. The engines don't weigh too much.

these stands are usually designed so you can use your own transmission mounting bolts x 4. If they are too short, go to your bolt supplier and get the length needed but make they are same tensile strength or you will be straight back to bending and snapping. and as previously noted here, do them up tight.
