I recently got a 4 disc CD changer now I'm thinking i want to enhance the sound system but not sure how, I'm going to get a new head unit one that can work with the cd changer. maybe a sub but I'm not sure what to add because I've never done anything like this before. Could any members give me some advice or some help?

Only same brand head units will work with the same brand changers.
I would just do what Spaceback said, changers are so old school. With the accessability of Ipods / mp3 etc why need a changer?

stock mitsu wont plug into another deck, or if it will it will be difficult and cost more.
doesnt matter if you dont have an ipod, just ripping ur cds to mp3s will save u alot more effort in the long run!
1cd=roughly 100mb
1dvd=4.7gb
therefore 47 cds on one dvd... go find a 47 dvd changer for ~40c ;) i dare ya!
MP3 over DVD/CD, it doesn't cost you anything to reload your MP3 player with new tracks and you won't get stuck when you want that new song to listen too but it's 6AM in the morning on Sunday and you can't buy any anywhere etc.. And with decent quality MP3's (192kpbs) you won't know the difference between a real CD or the MP3, we use my fiance's Nokia N95 as a media player so MP3 players arn't that non-accessable.. they're everywhere.. There's even headunits with built-in memory to rip cd's and facia's that are portable MP3 players.
Carputers FTW. can't beat 15+gb of music, movies - whatever.

Tho Nick, on a budget (and given the OP is looking for a new HU), no real need for an mp3 player... and even the deck would need AUX input, which probably doesnt (stock HU), or use an FM transmitter (lousy)... then theres batteries (charging, bothering with) etc etc
in these circumstances, lose the cd changer, and go a JVC headunit with USB and Giga-Mp3... nothing else seems to fit the bill...
this will also have the preouts for an amp if you go for a sub as well (which you cant really run off the stock deck)
JVC KD-DV7205 - $299 (plus $20 postage) (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BRAND-NEW-JVC-DVD-MP3-WMA-CD-PLAYER-KD-DV7205_W0QQitemZ320156282282QQihZ011QQcategoryZ505 59QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
great headunit to handle any upgrades you may choose down the track

Yeah exaclty. Only other way is to hook up the changer to a *gulp* fm modulator *gulp*. I dont see any other way.
As above, just remember its only the good songs that go onto the disk...

are you saying it can run up to 256GB??? if so then what's the point? is anybody going to need 50 thousand songs to choose from because they get bored of the standard 150 or so you can chuck on an mp3?
go the jvc

Moving beyond the head unit however... If u want quality music and don't want the size and cost of a sub, not to mention the excess bass, may i recomend, you purchase yourself a good quality head unit and a set of good quality 6"x9" 's and a quality set of 6" splits for the front doors. Depending what type of Verada you have you might also have spots for small speakers on the back doors too. May I recomend a Kenwood or JVC head unit and Polk Speakers, they what i used and they are definately very good, enough bass to keep u happy and excellent quality music. Although, they are pricey, whats your price range, and do u want a sub?

Blank CD's actually hold 700mb not 100, so it's about 6-7 dvd's not 47

i think spackbace means CDs in mp3 format are about 100mb. when you put your CDs onto a dvd you'd have it in mp3, hence the capacity of 47 CDs worth on one dvd

A JVC headunit linked with an iPod interface so you can run any size iPod and have it sitting in your glovebox out of sight. I've got a double DIN unit in mine and can control my iPod from the JVC remote control.

sankyou ;)
and i think the general consensus is jvc for the headunit ;) really good buy that ebay one btw, for a $300 deck its got some awesome features... i'd buy that if i didnt have my eclipse one
and for future purposes you just have to put in a screen above it and you have an in-car dvd player :) you'll be blingin it up with the ICE ;)
My Eclipse (CD5425) is probably worth $300 nowdays or less, its got HP and LP, Aux in, 5v outs etc etc..
250GB externally isn't such a big deal either, laptop hdd & Caddie - easy! cost ya $200.
Only quam i have with JVC is their stuff seems a bit.. loosey goosey, how's ya father, eh, so-so, andy-average, mary-mediochre, i-guess-sooooo.. cheap and nasty sometimes, a little 'clunky'.
However the giga-mp3 thing is a radical feature - has anyone asked him if he even owns a dvd burner OR a computer?? (albeit only $40 now for a 16x dvd-+rw) He could be posting from one of those little internet stands in his local shopping centre, spilling maccas everywhere and wiping his greasy hands all over the screen.
