View Full Version : Wiper blade removal?

hey guys
bought meself some new wiper blades today.
but i cant for the life of me work out how to get those caps off th end of the wiper arms to slide the old blade out and put the new one in? do i just attack it with a pair of long nose pliers?

yeap and it should pop out

They're easy to remove once you know how, shouldn't need to use pliers.
On the cap there is a little flap, just lever it up and slide it off. Simple as

couldnt find any flaps to lever it up, ended up breaking one and losing two.
are they a generic part i can get from supercheap or something?

If you just talking about the blade part... hell yes its generic. Supercheap it. To unfit, you just press in the two metal clip at one end then slide it out harshly.
Am I missing something?

those caps usually come with the wiper blades. i've added a pic of my wipers, your's might be different, but you'll see the plastic thing you need to lever up to get over the metal bits

my clip doesnt have that flap on the top - it just covered the end and about half a centimetre up the blade/arm (whatever you call it) itself.
the blades i used were cheap $5 supercheap ones, they didnt come with any new caps in the packet; i never remember it being this hard on my old car :rant:
