Well I had my 2.5" cannon that was bolted on over the rear axle replaced with an actual 2.5" cat back with a Berklee straight-through and I tell you WHAT... It's a lot quieter with bigger actual piping, no resonator and an oval straight-through..

I was a little skeptical at first when he said "Oh yeah, much quieter!" and i had to reiterate my point, a "STRAIGHT THROUGH MUFFLER??? NOT AN S BEND OR STOCK REPLACEMENT?" and he said "yes.." and dog-gone it, he was right!

No for all those (5 people) per year who ask "What's it sound like with a cannon or oval muffler" I shall be posting sound-tracks once i buy a new motherboard (I'm on a laptop with none of the files and no editing software) and I think my highway spurts (on the weekend) shall now be blissfully quiet, no more 2,500 drone that turns our heads into margaritas, the difference was that big!

ALTHOUGH he did mount it a bit ****house, off center, mounted way back under the car and basically looks like trash - when i get a tip on it one day ill get them to remount it so it looks more like a magna rear end and not a commodore/falcon (I don't like how their rear ends are so empty without any muffler there, just a pipe) BUT hey, it was cheap.

So....how does it sound now?
When i went from a 2.5" Cat back with cannon to 2.5" catback split at the axle to 2 x 2" piping to two redback mufflers i found down low it still sounded pretty much the same...
except it has more of a growl as i rev the engine out...

It's a HELL of a lot quieter, It sounds more like a V6 when below 4 grand, whereas before i had to go past 3 grand before you could recognise it was a V6 and not a 4. It's a bit too quiet i think but hey, it's better too quiet than too loud.

Can't hear it idling, whereas before it was a rumble.
