I am tired of the poverty pack look of my TPs. (both are Executives and my previous TN was a GLX)

So I was thinking of getting an Elite. Trouble is, it is hard to find a low kms one. So I thought I might buy a cheap Elite with a good interior and swap the seats and a few other bits into my sedan. There's one in the Trading Post right now for $990 that has the right colour seats (brown) and they look excellent.

I also like the digital dash but don't like the idea of putting one with a high kms reading in my car. Mine has done less than 70,000kms. So, it occurred to me that I could make up a digital pulse generator with a variable rate that I could connect to the digital odometer to feed pulses into it.

The question is, what happens to the reading when it gets to its max.? Does it start again from zero? What is the max? I am guessing it is 999,999 but does anyone know?

Note: I don't want to cheat anyone. I would just want to set it to the same as my existing odometer's reading at the time of swapping over.

the wiriing loom for the digi dash is different you need fuel oil and speedo senders
and the elites wiring loom up front

the digi dash stops at 999,999

any attempt to alter the digidash speedo will fry the chips in the digi dash

Attempting to modify the counter will erase the program that runs the digi dash, as the odometer reading is stored in the program memory for this exact reason. You can try and set up a pulse generator to run continuously, but it will take months of constant counting, as the digi dash is limited to just over 200km/h, and anything faster and it just doesn't count.

The choice is really how much you really want the dash. If you are really concerned with the K's on the odometer, just stick with the current one. I have a brand new engine in my TP that has currently only done about 550k's in its entire life... now trying to find any dash for a TP magna with this number of k's on it, whether digital or analogue is just impossible lol

Thanks for the info. everybody. I thought that might be the case, so I guess I will just stick with mine.
