Hi guys, I went down to autobarn today to pick up some led parkers for my car. I was after some green ones for my green TJ.

I showed him the bulb that was already in there and he said that that type only comes in white or blue. He said they only stock 'wedge' type bulbs in different colours but they wont fit my car.

He showed me one of the wedge bulbs and they are clearly very different to what is in mine. He also said that he has never even heard of anyone manufacturing the type of bulb I have in any colour other than white or blue.

I'm really keen to get some green ones. Have any of you found some that will fit a TJII?

Thanks,

Matt

wow... i bought exactly the same thing for my S2 TJ today @ Autobarn!!! crazy

I got white LED's... when u put the cover back on and turn on the parkers they look blue but, fricken great! i'll take a pic tonight when i go out and i'll post it here later for you to have a look.

when i went to autobarn i asked for blue ones, but they didn't have any left, and apparently they come in blue/red/green/white though so ask around at diff car shops and you should find them. Also i'll tell ya the manufacturer and the model number so u can ask the guys @ autobarn to have a look and see if they stock them

Other than normal and white park lights other colours are not legal and you might get pulled over by the cops.

depending on what type of headlights you have I am sure I can find them in nearly any colour.

i think that only applies to headlights & Fog lights, not parkers... i could be wrong but

nope, its an led bulb, and will be illegal (especially with blue/red reserved for emergency vehicles)

No "could" about it...

If they're not "wedge" (guessing this is T10?), then perhaps they are BA9S? Try searching ebay for "BA9S LED" and see what shows up.
(just did a search, came up with three pairs of green BA9S's from international sellers, and sixteen pairs of green T10s)

Spackbace, I was under the impression that LED parkers are legal if they are the right colour?

well when the headlights are on i think it drowns out the coloured parkers anyway. I think its only if you feel like showing off and driving around with your parkers on...

Yes its illegal and yes its rice but I found if u buy those condom things fro them in blue, they turn out green if u got decent lighting from parkers... stretch them out!

Also got a very SLIGHT green tinge with full lights but not enough for cop attention..

yeah probably white is, any colours arent
(if anyone needs to question that, it goes in the same category as led washers)

I'm running white parker LEDs, one main point is that if you leave your lights on it's draining bugger-all juice (though tail-lights are still incandescent at the moment...)

They're silicon, like the new flexible bakeware stuff you see in the supermarkets. Can take quite a bit of heat (generally 200+)

the ones for the t10 based wedge globes are only rated to 5W and will start to melt if you put them around say a 10W globe

but like most have said. do not put other colours than white in your park lights. i put some red LEDs in my parkers to see what it looked like before i put them in my dash and you could still easily see them with head lights on.

to match up with the whiter coloured HL globes.

coloured parkers are illegal... full stop. only colours allowed are white and orange showing to the front and white, orange and red to the rear.

Carry a copy of the Qld Transport Motor Vehicle Modification pamphlet with you, where it specifically mentions "Some modern 'blue' halogen bulbs provide superior illumination to traditional bulbs. These bulbs contain less red/yellow and more blue frequencies of light to achieve a whiter appearance".
ie. they appear blue against older yellow lights, when in fact they are a purer white.

i was under the impression that as stated above, any colour other than red, white or orange on your car is enough to get cop attention as its illegal.

The brightest leds I have seen till date, but you dont find them in Australia. You can find anything, if you are prepared to pay. I've got some LEDs that are amongst the brightest commercially available, it's just a matter of how much you want to pay for them (they aren't going in the car, thats for sure. Though might install some of my older Luxeons...)

If you want real LED power, check out the likes of Luxeon, CREE, Osram, and Seoul Semiconductors.
