mirror is easy take inside cover off it just needs levering off gently only clips on and then 3 screws hold mirror on and unplug the wires as for the side strips easier just to mask around them and paint them on the car much less hassles that way.

to take the mirrors off a 3rd gen, fold the mirror in and look down the gap either side on the mirror base. you will see two 10mm bolts. you can get one out then turn the mirror the other way so its facing forward and the other bolt is accessable. undo the wiring plug and viola! mirrors off. probably one of the easiest cars to remove mirrors from.
the side moulds are just stuck on with double sided tape. be careful not to bend them too much when removing them as it can stuff them. if you need to, leave them in the sun to soften and straighten. also, remove the old double sided tape from the mould before painting them so they can be stuck straight back on when painted.

new side strips are like 15 ea, probably easier than cleaning the old tape off the moulds and retaping.

so ya reckon its easier just to buy new ones, get them painted then take the old ones off and slap the painted ones bak on? wikid sounds simple enough lol

there is a plug along the wiring. you might need to pull some of it out of the hole in the door but its there.
