I've got all the parts necessary to do my first audio install in my '02 TJ:

Amp Response AA-0420:

Power / channel @ 4ohm 14.4V: 80WRMS x 2
Power / channel @ 2ohm 14.4V: 100WRMS x 2
Power / bridged @ 4ohm 14.4V: 200WRMS x 1
Signal/Noise ratio: >90dB
Input sensitivity: 200mV to 5V
Low pass filter: 50 - 500Hz @ 12dB/octave
High pass filter: 50 - 500Hz @ 12dB/octave
Bass boost: 0 – 18dB @ 50Hz
Pass thru RCA: Yes
Remote level controller: Yes

Speakers: 6.5" Jaycar Precision Response Kevlar splits (http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=CS2329&CATID=&keywords=kevlar&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=)

Head unit: Sony CDX-GT705DX (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=16404)

I'm armed with the Aerpro Mitsubishi wiring harness adapter (http://www.aerpro.com.au/list.php?pcode=APP0111&cat_name=New%20Products&cat_no=&cat_sno=) and the Sony to ISOHarness 12 Pin Plug (http://www.aerpro.com.au/list.php?pcode=APP8SP&cat_name=New%20Products&cat_no=&cat_sno=).

According to this guide (http://www.the12volt.com/wiring/recwirsz.asp) I think I need 8 gauge wiring. I'll be running the amp from under the front passenger seat. Rear speakers are remaining as stock and I'm not sure whether to run them from the HU or the amp.

I've got the console removal guide (http://members.optusnet.com.au/miltonf/car/mitsu/console/stereoremoval.htm) and the Mitsubishi wiring harness diagram (http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Mitsubishi-Wiring.pdf).

My plan tomorrow is to measure and buy MDF to make new baffles and also to go out and get a wiring kit. My question to you now is twofold:

1. What wiring kit to get - and what connectors.
2. Is there anything else I need to know or last minute advice you think I should hear?

I've had some good advice so far from you guys, Spackbace especially, so I bow to your experience and hope you can offer some help.

[EDIT: I should also add that I'm in Melbourne's eastern suburbs and am planning to go supercheap and/or autobarn for wiring, unless someone knows anywhere better not staffed by ****holes.]

wirink kits can be expensive

i just got it by the mtr and used top quality rca's and my own fuse breaker...

the amp will be fine on 8ga wiring, others will say go atleast 4ga but the terminals only accept 8ga on that amp.... i was running the 4x50wrms version of that amp flat out all the time on 8ga and it was fine.... somehow now i managed to cram 4ga into it and havent noticed any difference...

after reading up on the forums i decided to then run rears off the deck and fronts off the amp

i have since been convinced to toss the rears all together! and it works for me... but back seat passangers (a BIG NO NO in m car) dont get the same sq as in the front.... but i dont sit in the back!

just go out to jb or similar and a amp install kit
will have everything you need to get that amp up and running
seen as your only running one amp 8ga wiring will be fine
leave the rears running off the h/u and run the splits off the amp and just bridge the channels or buy a 2ch amp instead or a 4ch unless your upgrading the rear speakers soon or plan on getting a sub?

Nah, not planning to upgrade rears or get a sub anytime soon. Ended up going to Supercheap and got an 8ga kit with everything in it.

Thanks for the advice all. I'll report back after install tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
