Disregard the "sell it and buy a v6 for just as cheap" comments you are going to hear, there will be a few people saying it that dont understand some people just cbf. Probably the best mods to start with are the eaisiest: Cold air intake, Exhaust system, leads, extractors.
These dont make a massive difference though and for any real power you need to turbo, tune etc etc.

The 2.6 is always a heavy breather, so just focus on things like flow at first. Open up the throttle body a bit, put a better exhaust system on and you're off :)

The second gens had already solved the numerous design flaws the first gen Magna 2.6's had, so there is a lot less work required on a second gen.

There's no cheap way to get decent power out of any car. Especially not a magna.

If you really want power, look at getting a 2nd hand turbo off a similar sized engine, get a flange made up so you can bolt it to your stock manifold and you're 1/3rd of the way there.

another way is to find a crappy second hand M90 supercharger, get rid of your air con compressor and install it there. Not easy but nothing is off the shelf easy when getting power out of Magna's. Black Beard and myself both know oh so very well

well cheapest ways would be high flow muffler and new air intake, those 2 would be the cheapest and show the biggest gains.

A few electric superchargers will work wonders, also a Mod chip from Ebay, for $8 its well worth it :)

Extractors can be found 2nd hand at a wreckers if you look around and will cost you about $50 or so..pretty good value for money...the rest of the exhaust should set you back about $400 or so..

For about $3Kish you can get an undercar turbo setup or for about $4K+ you can get a proper turbo setup
