Hey all,

Just finished putting a 1999 TH advance 3.5 and manual into a 1998 TF solara and jsut some advice for others.

Yes the 3.0 litre auto computer runs the 3.5 manual no worries at all.

Yes everything is bolt in except the hole you need to make in the firewall for the clutch master, It is already marked from factory on the inside where the holes are.

The clutch line fits perfect but make sure you get the bracket on the lh lower chassis near the gerabox as the auto doesn't have it.

All the shifter and linkages bolt straight in.

Not sure about driveshaft length as I used the manual ones and the auto driveshafts had stuffed cv boots.

You can use the old air con compressor that is in the car that way you don't need to regas it afterwards

## Things to be aware of,
The engine pipes are different height from the 3 to 3.5 so you need at least the 3.5 manifolds and y-piece engine pipes as the 3.0 litre pipe will not fit.
You will need to Join the wires for the inhibitor switch at the plug, you also need to join the reverse light switch wires on the same plug to the reverse switch on the manual box. (both easy to do)
Cruise control needs the same mod but still looking into that one. Basically the cruise will not work because it thinks it is still in Park.
A major problem I encontered was that 90% of motors are from front on smashed cars where in most cases the alternator bracket brakes and you can not use the 3.0 litre bracket as it is different, I just tig welded the bracket where it broke and perfect.

I think that is about it ..... any question you have about doing this just pm me... cheers all

Big question, how does it go?

we also have the TE 3.0 manual so its not a big shock since we have already driven a manual magna for 4 years now but the 3.5 is still stock so after some minor mods we will see, did go for a little strap on the back street and it has bucket loads of power and major understeer in hard , power on corners ,more then the 3.0 so might be some indication that it has good potential ....

not sure, on the te manual we have we did the lot, ie pacemakers 2 1/2 mandrel system, cold air intake, not sure how far we are going with this one as its still bog stock and we are a bit over the whole modded cruising car scene, more into the family 4x4 beach camping scene now , that doesn't cost as much in fines etc ... it is mainly the wifes car as i've sold my 4b and looking for a 80series cruiser etc

Lovely to see someone spending their cash on something like this, rather than 20" chromies :)

Now you've just made the process that much easier for anyone else considering a manual converstion, going to 3.5L or both

to be honest it didnt cost us a thing ..we brought the magna for $700 that we got the motor from and we sold the rest of the car in parts and made money back ...so yeah cost nothing lol
and time wise me and the missus did it in a day
