Ok, so I was playing around yesterday and realised my aerial (or whats left) works as a perfect tv aerial for a Digital Set Top Box, now I was wondering firstly, where do I buy new aerials (Magna TH 99 Executive, not the powered one). And secondly, would it be possible to split into the wire running down the car and put a t connector in. So is the cable running down to antenna just 75OHM coaxial cable?. Sorry for ****ty post, to early in the morning.
Also for those who are wondering (set top box?????) its a miniture set top box that I got from work (Dick Smith). They have 12V input, 2 AV Outs, extended cable for IR. And one would assume they are for a car. :P And its oh so small, (under the seat?) The only big thing is the antenna input which I think they could have made into a 3.5mm, but customers would get to confused :P.

Thanks In advance.
Firstly - I have not done this myself nor do I know what the cable is BUT, I can't see there being any problem cutting your coax and putting in a T piece. I'd recommend the old coax computer networking hardware for your T piece and plugs as they clip on securely and wouldn't vibrate off in a while, especially if you do this somewhere under the dash etc, you don't want to have to find the suckers again to reconnect them.

Yeah, So either BNC (old networking), or the F connectors (screw on) that are used on all new tv cables/connections.
Also, Off topic I know, if the cigarette lighter that came with my dvd player is 3A 3AG fuse, and I have an inline fuse holder, then I can just place that onto the positive wire, and then cut off the plug and wire it in to the back of the cigarette lighter plug, correct? same with the mini set top box, its 1A so I could do the same 1A fuse? Is there a limit to how much the cigarette lighter plug can take and Should I maybe look at using the back of the car (where my amps are) to supply the power.
And should grounding have the same rules as an amp, it should be no more then 50cm etc. Cause in this cable its like 3m each way, and im getting a little hissing noise on my dvd player when its running of set top box.

putting a TV in a car is a stupid idea..
it will never work properly..
coz ive tried it and spent $5,000 all up on the h/u ($3.5k fitted) and another 1.5k on the tv tuner, pal to ntsc converters, arials, this that and the other and gave up..
it didnt help that the place had never done one like it before so i guess i was the guinea pig..
i had the stick on arials on the 2 lower back corners (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showpost.php?p=569313&postcount=20 - like that) and they reckon the metalised window tint caused interferrance.. driving between streets full of buildings made the reception go fuzzy.. if the car was parked you had to be parked in direct line with the TV transmittor tower to get perfect reception.. was really just an expensive novelty to say it was there..
One thing i was told was to not go digital because the reception is either all or none meaning if you drive down a street and get ok reception and turn off into another, if the reception drops out a bit u will lose everything.. where as analogue will just go a bit fuzzy..
i do miss it though
good luck gettin yours goin..
edit* i thought there was supposed to be 2 arials for the tv as the signal gets transmitted between both so in fact the arial is actually the whole area bewteen the two..

Well Im going to try a booster and if that doesn't work then I'll give up on the tv idea, just another waste of money .

haah my post sounded a little negative re-reading it hey!
dont give up, you will get it in the end.. i just think that maybe you need a proper car TV tuner that has the dual antennas like mine did..

I tried this a few months ago...
I dont have tv anymore! It was such a pain in the **** so i gave up on it.
It was something similar to what you got. the box was about the size of a cigarette box so it was perfect for the car but unfortunately the reception wasnt worth the hassel so i pulled it out.

just enjoy dvd :P
i think digital signal works best when stationary, not moving anyway, hence why car tv tuners just dont work in practical situations (not that it should be on when car is in motion *cough* ;) )
