hey guys. short and sweet. i was quoted $400 labour to do the following:

1. kings all round and monroe GT gas $680
2. o2 sensor NGK $150
3. current muffler removed and replaced with lukey LR2779 no price.

$300 of that is to just do the suspension and i feel that thats just way too much. all stuff has to be workshop done on my car for warranty so unfortunatly i cant backyard it.

thoughts please?

sounds about right

400lab = about 4 hrs

springs about $220

460\4 = $115 per shock

$150 for o2 may be on steep but about right

just found that mohit got the same shocks and springs for $540...

labour i was thinking would be about right because they have to do wheel alignment. well i'm assuming they'll do one and other bits and pieces

Don't forget bump-stops are near on a hundred bucks for all 4. I think that price is alright. Why not go a Bosch o2 sensor, they're cheaper than that, just Repco a call.

$300 labour for suspension sounds a bit steep. i was quoted $60 labour and $45 for a wheel alignment to fit new front struts AND cv shafts. as far as labour goes, to remove the front struts takes about half an hour a side. you just unbolt the wheel, then remove 4 bolts in the wheel arch and the 3 on the top of the stut tower. i pulled both my struts out after work last week, cut the bump stops down and installed them again in just over an hour. i can't imagine the rear ones taking that much longer than the fronts.

also, that price wouldn't be through a dealer by any chance? i know the local ford dealer charges $93 an hour and the place where i go charges $60, and i would trust them over the guys at the dealer.

yeah i was thinking today that i've heard it a lot cheaper. usual price around $200 with wheel alignment. i've poked about the threads but no much luck so far finding what everyone else paid. no doubt after typing this someone will slip up a link and make me eat my words. lol

can people post how much they paid for their install please?

on another note i found kings SL front and L rears for $250 delivered. schweet!

I just had lovell superlows and kyb shocks installed at Beaurepairs for $170 and that was the cheapest place i could find in WA. Most other places quoted me $270 so its worth having a look around
That was without a wheel alignment though

i got quoted $300 labour for suspension (installation of kyb shocks and lovell superlows), but that seems way overpriced to me. maybe try ringing around a few more places, as it seems to vary greatly, given "Levinitup" got quoted $170 and we are both in WA.

also, not to steal the thread or anything, but where do you get bump stops from. i ordered kyb shocks from phillicom but don't know whether they would be included. is it necessary to get new bump stops?
