Hey boys and girls...

I just got a silver TW Magna about a month ago and im looking to colour code it first off, then rims/lower etc. later on. But first things first. I don't know much about this stuff lol , so i have a few questions.

1. I'd like to have a silver grille.....I was just wondering if the chrome/silver verada or vr-x grille would fit a TW ? Mitsu said i can just get my black plastic one painted for around $60. I'm guessing that would be cheaper but the verada/vr-x grilles arent plastic right....

2. They also said it'd be around $85 to paint each door mirror, good or bad ? I thought i'd have to go to a wreckers and find silver ones....Getting them painted less hassle ?

3. The side door strips.....can you buy new ones that are already painted ? or do ya just get them to paint it while they're at it with the door mirrors ?

Thanks.

Hi, welcome to the club.

Colour coding was one of the first things I thought about when I picked up my TL ES. I'll answer your questions in order -

1. Any grille from any TL or TW will fit. They're all plastic, just modified in various ways. The Verada grilles have chrome striping, and as far as I know the VR-X grilles are just matched to the body colour. I was quoted $70 to spray both sides the same colour as the body. Personally I think it's one of the best exterior features of the VR-X models; it's one of the easiest ways to pick them out.

2. $85 is what I was quoted to spray each mirror. If you go wrecker-hunting, then you'll need to make sure that the paint codes of your car and the car that you're raiding are the same, to make sure that the colours look right.

3. The side strips are stuck on, and as far as I know you can only get them in plain grey.

It'd probably be best to get everything sprayed in one hit, it's one visit to the panel shop and one price.
