Hey guys,

on both rear doors and the car, the 2 pastic thingos (see pic) , how do you fill the holes up when you take them off, cause i tried using a bit of car filler, but it wont stay in.

I think possibly some people weld-fill them; pretty sure that's what they do when they "shave" the side strips.
Didn't actually know there were holes for those parts, thought they were purely stick-on.

let me be the first to rain on your parade. without those strips, the grey/maroon join will look ****house and it'll look extremely cheap. do it if you want, I don't think it'd be a good idea. you need to weld a metal plate behind it to be able to pack the filler in.

You're a ****head.

I've pulled mine off, I just left the little clear plastic grommet things in there for the time being (6 months and counting... lol) It looks much better, I ****ing hate that grey trim.

holes can be filled with body filler but you need to sand around the hole so the filler has something to bite onto
also you will have to sand back the filler to get it level
i "patched" a 4 inch hole in the sills of a cortina of mine when i was young and dumb (as opposed to just dumb) with filler
requires a fair bit of sanding and something to hold the filler in place while it dries

welding the holes is the best way but requires grinding the weld back afterwards

have fun with it :D

or, use a ball pien (spelling?) hammer to make a dent, and then fill that.

yours isnt two toned. on a non-two toned car, it'll look okay.

correct me if i'm wrong, but wasnt your old bar, along with your rear bar grey?

ANYWAY, it is your car, and do as you wish, however, what I meant by the two towning will look crap is: it'll be paint to paint, so it'll have a hard edge and may possibly not be straight (seen it on friends VP) How i've seen it done is they take off the mouldings, spray under them, colour code the mouldings, then put them back on. it then gives an effect that it was meant to be like that from factory. then again, it's your car, do what you want.

It isn't called two tone, it's called 'unpainted bumpers', don't confuse class with ass.

My car came with unpainted bumpers from factory, they looked like **** so I went for the Elite style outer trim (unpainted strip all around the car, rest of bumpers colour coded) and finally full colour coding (albeit a subtle three tone lol)

My point is, I took off my little grey plastic trimmings when I had unpainted bumpers, and they looked fine.
