my radiator fan is not working for some reason so today i had a look at it and i think the fusible link is busted. does this sound rite? also if thats the problem where can i get a new one. of course i think mitsubishi would but they charge like wounded bulls so i was wondering if any other places sell them? any ideas?

Check the relay as this is a common problem for this model.... Also check to see if the fan comes on when you switch on the air conditioner... If you want, drop over and I'll have a look for you...

GET IT CHECKED , IF URE FUSABLE LINK IS GONE YOUR CAR WILL NOT RUN , MAYBE JUST A THERMO OR FUSE

fan is just not comming on at all im pretty sure.

ill have a play around with it and might take it into mitsubishi in my lunch break today to have them check what they reckon. thanks for the offer mal and if its a more complex problem than im hoping (which it bloody better not be) then i just might be taking you up on your offer.

just took it into mitsubishi today. the new is either good or bad.
the fan works fine, the relay and fuse are fine and the guy who checked it says that leave 1 of 2 things. either my computer is playing up or the wiring is screwed somewhere along the line. i hope its the later of the 2. so Anyone know of a decent auto-electrician.

As Madmagna offerred to have a look before, why don't you bring the car to him for a quick look??? He might not have his own workshop but he sure had look after heaps of AM members' cars and he knows Magnas inside out...

the guy who looked at it from mitsubishi i know and trust coz went to school with him.
anyway he says it looks like the wireing is screwed somewhere between the ecu and the fuse box. the relay in the box in the engine compartment is working fine but no signal is reaching it telling it to turn on and send power to the fan. so for now ive just removed the relay and have a wire connecting the power. this keeps the fan running all the time to stop it heating up. am gonna get an autoelectrician to fix it unless anyone here is an autoelectrician whos willing to fix it?

This is a very simple fix, just a simple wiring bypass to enable the relay to switch on and off via the temp sensor in the radiator is all that is needed. My offer still stands, as I said there is barely a nut or bolt on these cars I do not know.
Has the temp sensor for that matter been checked.
