I can lend my flexible Asian hands for the cause!

the dash in my KL is blackened out when off kinda thing too

i quite like it actually - makes the white backlighting show through so much clearer and more elegant lol

anyhow - thats my 2cents on the matter :P

Need someone to pioneer fitting this to a Magna... looks awesome.

The Verada is great with all its little toys but the only thing letting it down is lack of a Manual box... I realise that the type of person to buy a luxury sedan isn't usually the type of person who drives a manual but still... non-cost option!

if you have a friend with a verada, just switch the console over. There are 2 screws that hold the bezel in, then after that i think there are a couple of screws that hold the cluster in and it just slides out. It would only take a few minutes to do.

So what about the electrical side of things dude? Like the fact it's blacked out when there's no power to it... What do you do about that?

The black thing appears to be the perspex cover itself as when I look at mine at the right angle/light I can see the outlines of the numbers etc thru the perspex

The wiring is slightly different from the regular dash, I have diagrams here, Ill dig em up.

i have all the diagrams... looks like its mostly just 2 power supply lines... i am gonna pull mine and test if the wires are there on the weekend when i have a few days.

Do you think a Diamante Instrument cluster would have the same connectors as a Verada? Check these (http://motors.search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&catref=C6&from=R10&mppfqy=diamante+instrument&_trksid=m37&satitle=diamante+instrument+2003&sacat=6028%26catref%3DC6&fmmk=&fmmd=&fylo=&fyhi=&mppfqy=diamante+instrument&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=ZIP%2FPostal&sabfmts=1&saobfmts=insif&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search) out! Only downside is its in Miles although maybe Kilometres are also shown on speedo. Availability seems better than Used Verada Instruments.

from my understanding of the diamante they should be the same dash as the verada, only with the speedo marked for miles. this would make it unroadworthy.

no doubt the idea behind it is much the same as the cheaper types of the one way mirror the side of the glass or this case perspex which is emitting more light is the side that get the mirror effect and cant see through while the other darker side is able to see through
