hey guys,

does anyone know what paperwork or processes that needs to be completed or filled out for an auto to be changed to a manual. Eg: rego/insurance anything else. any help would be appreciated.

sweet, i know, im going tomorrow or thursday, but i was wondering is it much hassel, from people who have already gone through this process.

you'll need to get it engineered (i.e. have a certified engineer sign off on it), but it really does vary state to state, so you need to contact your RTA or equivalent.

ok thanks guys, so from what I have found out of here and by others, is i need to change my insurance, fill out that form will has provded me with, and once complete get and engineer to check it. Does that engineer thing cost money?

yes. shouldn't be too much though. I would give the DPI a call (13 11 56) and ask them if an engine/transmission change requires certification.

off the top of my head, I would say about $200 for an engineer to check it out and sign off.

Do you have to do this with all modifications to the engine?:confused:

not minor stuff, but to add a turbo/supercharger or something of that sort of magnitude.

it all depends on the OEM specs and the ADRs as to whether something needs to be certified or not. your local Road Authority should be able to tell you.
