Has anyone here put a Ralliart LSD into a Sports or VRX?

If so, how much are they worth and is what is involved?

Not cheap.

Ralliart gearboxes (come with LSD as one unit) are hard to find, I remember Black Beard being quoted $1650 for one.

Then there's a fair bit of labour to do the swap, 4-6 hours?

Or you can go the route me and Black Beard have, which is the Quaife LSD.

You're looking at around $1900 for the LSD, bearings and speedo drive gear. Then $800-1000 of labour to install it, unless you have acess to mate's rates.

I really hope on the track it makes as a much difference as I've been lead to believe, which was the whole point of the excercise for me.

Yeah I did manage to find a Ralliart Gearbox about 9 months ago. Was a complete fluke and in hindsight - it was a pretty good price. Although I think you'd be lucky to find one for that price now because the five speed manual boxes have become so rare that normal (non ralliart) ones are selling for well over $1000 alone now.

When my first diff let go - I queried Mitsubishi regarding the price of a ralliart lsd. The diff centre alone was over $2000.

Are they really worth it over the standard diff?

I'm just trying to weigh up whether I get a VRX/Sports and superchage it or get a Ralliart and do the same or get a Ralliart already done, but with high km.

Well no one here seams to have broken a ralliart item, so we're yet to see if the quaife is stronger. But I'd probably pay the extra money simply for the life time warranty. :D
