.. im new here and already wanting to ask questions. i've been reading stuff here in AMC forum and finally joined after a year or 2 =)

.. i've been hearing noise behind the glove box lately. the noise only comes when i turn the fan/AC on. when i finally taken out the glove box and turn the fan on, the noise is coming from the black box. im not sure what that black box is called - AC/Heater fan. it sounds like the fan is hitting something inside when its on.

.. has any1 experienced this b4? how can i fix this problem? is it repairable or easy to replace?

I'm guessing the bearings on the AC is shot.

had this problem for about 9 months, then it finally stopped altogether.

solution.

Go to a wrecker and get a new interior fan.

Cost - ~$70

.. [to will3690] .. is it easy to remove the hole thing? how long does it take to do this? is there is thread on how to remove the AC/Heater fan?

.. if there isnt any, can any1 tell how to remove/replace the whole thing?

il be the first to say it - if something seems silly or might be common, the search button will be your friend.

my heaterbox makes the same noise, only at high fan speeds tho - you have prolly gotten a leaf or something caught / drawn into the fan box.
it might eventually break and the noise stop, or if its annoying you that much, have a look around for a 'new' part - wreckers will be your best bet on that one.
