Hey guys
recently my car (V6 12 valve) hasn't seemed to have the top end power that it used to. Initally i changed the fuel filter as the symptoms suggested, but nothing changed.
What i am noticing, mainly in first gear, is when the car is launched and full throttle is applied, the car stops pulling at 4,500 RPM, before that it pulls very very nicly but once over that 4,500RPM mark, power just dies in the arse. The engine will rev right out to it's redline of 6,000RPM but there is just no power over 4,500RPM

Any ideas what could be the problem???
thanx

Interesting, as we've compared cars before and ours were very similar, it'd be good to have another ride with you to experience the difference.

max torque from our stock motor is 235nm@4000rpm [edit: 4000 not 4500rpm], but that doesnt mean it should die in the arse after that.

How are the extractors? The cat isnt clogged? Unless it's injectors?

Fuel filter maybe? Other then that I have no idea, how much does the power die off? Got me stumped :? .

problem solved, i threw the pod back in as i had a cruise on sunday and wanted some more noise, and all my top end is back, and it pulls better andchirps more in 2nd now cause of i guess more torque as well.

This could sort of put to rest the pod-panel issue people have. I really have no CAI for the pod and it gave me much more power than my panel in the air box. just a thought

Just to throw a spanner in the works lol I've had a panel and never had a problem with top end.

to throw another spanner in, I just took off the big K&N oval type pod and put back the standard box and panel filter on my 3.0 24V, Im sure it runs better as well as a lot quieter.
