I have soundstream splits ready for installation,
Q: Where is the best place to fit the x-over?

I put my splits high up in the footwell. I haven't got photos, but on the driver's side it's forwards of the fusebox, and it's on a similar spot on the passenger side. They're held in with velcro. The velcro means they're easy to remove later on, and they're mounted high enough to be out of the way.

my x overs are inside the door trims, and if i just pop out the window switch i can service/adjust them :P

mine crossovers are on the sides of my center console either side of the hu

mount them away from any power cables etc. Where you put it is up to you.:D

Mine are up under the dash, drivers is above the fuse-box, making sure to run away from power cables and passengers is under the glove-box kick panel. I just zip-tied those suckers down with a storm of zip-ties.

mine are in the doors
when you take the trim off there will be a metal plate in the middle of the door
mine are screwed to that

Ditch the passive crossover and go active :D

thats about where mine are too, but mine are attached with velcro tabs.

Passive x-overs are the most common, they're set and all you can do is plug the speakers in and thats it. Active you can actually change your x-over point(s) and tune them so to speak.

mine are on the side of the centre console in the passenger footwell side by side, they work for me there

Mine are stashed under the carpet in the foot well, well out of the way of ppls feet. out of the way and safe.
