V6 Cam removal tool ... for TR/TS dont know about 3rd gens

tool see second picture ---- first picture is the proper mitsubishi special tool

What: holds the cam while you undo the nut

You'll need: the two inlet manifold support brackets 3 bolts and nuts to suit
Difficulty: little difficulty /one person
ETA: 10 minuites to construct
Instructions: undo the coil and the two support brackets from the back of the motor
12 mm bolts and one 14 mm bolt
How to construct:
bolt the two brackets togeater with a short nut and bolt as in picture

on the smaller bracket -two longer bolts and nuts to act as holding pegs

fit into cam slots hold against while you use a 17 mm socket and t bar to undo the cam nut

fit new seals use tool to tighten cam back on

is this the sort of thing most mechanics have? When I do my cam swap, do I have to supply that tool?

Or is it not really necessary?

Looks like a one size fits all.... It would not be mitsubishi specific.:D

does this only suit 2nd gen V6 or have you had a chance to see if it works on a 3rd gen too?

I made my out of 19mm plywood and it works perfactly !.
