Hey people,
Just a question... will the stock manifolds/extractors from a TT 6G72 DOHC bolt on and fit on my N/A 6G72 DOHC?
Seeing as this would be an easier option for me than having to go get the custom extractors made up.

They should bolt up to the heads, but unless you're whacking turbos on the other ends of them, they are going to flow like ****, and cost you a bucketload of power.

You would be better off using the factory headers than those things. Turbo manifolds are completely different to extractors. Extractors are designed to get rid of the exhaust gasses as efficiently as possible, turbo manifolds are designed to recycle the exhaust gasses, and flow dynamics are of a low priority due to the fact that the engine is boosted.

But seriously - if you've got those, why aren't you going TT???

Thanks for the reply mb and blackbeard. So using these stock extractors/manifold should see me with standard power output from the engine is this correct?
Reckon if I use these, seeing as they are for the twin turbo engine (and reading blackbeard's reply), it won't rob me of power on the N/A dohc right?

Using the TT manifolds WILL cost you HP everywhere acrossthe rev range. They have very little flow characteristics and are definatly not tuned length.
Yes they will work... but i reckon they will choke the power down to a SOHC output.
Just put the turbo's on... I can do all the pipework if you want!

MMMMMMMM tasty, twin turbo, supercharged...... Let there be POWER! (or melted pistons HAHA)

turbo headers are designed to smaller to get exhaust gases flowing faster at lower rpm to have the turbo spool up better by restricting the size of the piping. the restricted piping size has a positive effect on the turbo but a negative effect on how the gas comes out of the head at higher rpm. but the positive effect it has on the turbo far out ways the negative effect on the gases.

also the the design is a 3 into 1 that has much shorter primaries than you would find in most other 3 into 1 designs.

and 1 of the banks would require some interesting piping to get it working since it goes off the the side rather than straight down.

they'd bolt up looking at the stud pattern but you'd still have to get custom piping made.

Exactly right, and after looking at those pics again, one of those banks of headers bends around after the 3-1, and faces upwards, toward the bonnet, so you're gonna have to whack a U bend onto that to get the piping going back down to meet up with the other bank. If you use those things - they are going to be horribly restrictive.

I wouldn't be touching them, unless someone is giving them away - then I'd take them, but not put them on an NA car, hang onto them because you're looking at $1000 towards a TT conversion there.

I would just get extractors made, or if you can wait import some stock manifolds over from a NZ diamante. Should save you $100's but will be restrictive.
