to those who have lowered wagons in the rear does your springs fit in to the top mould? taking off my wheels the other day realised that the top spring doesnt it entierly fit into the top rubber mold? like sits an inch out!? ill get some photos up next time a change me wheels. It seem the coil is supposed to coil in more at the top(looking at my old springs) where mine stays the same width all the way top to bottom.
ATM its not causing troubles cuase im not really using the springs yet (because im on bumps) but im getting that all fixed soon so then problems may occur?

Good timing. My question is related, and I think the diagrams illustrate your question too.
I have bought some TH Wagon F&R Lovells springs off ebay with the intent of putting them in a TR Wagon. Both Lovells and Kings catalogue indicates this is possible.
For the rears: Lovells CRL-41 is super low in TR/TS and Sport Low in TE-F-H.
But the rears I have are tagged CRL-40, which according to the Lovells' catalogue indicates it is Sport Low for a Sedan. However the seller is adamant he removed it from his wifes 98 TH Wagon (there was a wagon in the driveway).
My first question is:
Am I being bullshi**ed? Is it possible to put sedan springs in a wagon?
The CRL-40s are normal finish top and bottom. A MMAL manual I downloaded shows that the spring as normal (diagram C), but then this is contradicted by diagram D, which shows a reduced top mount (coiling in). Both show rubber seats.
Does anyone who has replaced the original springs recall if the originals were reduced or normal?
Does anyone have a set of stockers lying around the could measure, photograph and post up?
Does anyone know if CRL-41 are reduced end finish?
Hedgie, do you know the codes of your springs? I assume you have not yet fitted the custom Kmacs I saw mentioned elsewhere?
My second question is:
Do you think my CRL-40s will fit in a TS/R? It sounds like Hedgie is running springs that are not exactly the same end configuration as the originals.
Assuming that TR/S and TE/F/H are interchangeable, my std TR rear springs are very similar to the Lovells except for the top end finish.
TR are 310 long, od136mm, wire od15.7mm. Bottom end: normal. Top is reduced and fits snugly in the rubber mount.
CRL-40 are 325mm long, od 127mm; wire od13mm. Normal finish both ends.
Summarising: the Lovells are longer, slightly smaller in diameter, and made of thinner steel. They are definitely different to the TR springs but might be interchangeable. Pics are attached including a sketch showing the appearance of the stocker. I didn't think to photograph it while it was out

All comments welcome.
