SO anyway, i was sitten at macca's and i was parked next to a gold TR Profile, and it got me thinkin. What does this car have that an equivilant Exec doesn't have, and does it have more than an SE or Elite, or less than? Is it to magna as Equipe is to Commodore?
- Cheers, Brad

Profile is not a valid trim level for a TR-TS magna.

TR GLX, Executive, SE and Elite... TS came in GLX, Executive, SE, V6-SI and Advance... Verada KR and KS came in EI and XI levels.

Probably a dealer option, perhaps an Exec done up with aircon, body coloured bumpers... Or some clown trying to make himself look "unique" like the moron I saw the other day with a stock TS V6 with a GSR badge on the back :doubt:

Lol i think i saw that same car, or maybe another. Might have been a dealer option, cos it had like a trim on the side, (like a sweeping stripe patern and the word Profile) i think there was another one as well similar thing but it said vacationer (i know comodore has one like that too) that lives near me, im like "huh?" Thanx man!

Vacationer... rings a bell but I don't know.

I've seen some weird things written on the sides of some magnas, most of it is just poser bull****... It's like putting a sticker on your car that says "Teppanyaki Racing" Both words have meaning, but just not together, and certainly don't pertain to the greatness of the vehicle it is applied to.

Ah yes, I forgot about the Safari Wagon... It was a factory kit, very rare these days :)

Hmmm... i dono... is that a challenge Yann. The day i get rich im gonna test that :P. Takin a ragna on safari, that'd be diff and fun maybe... hahahaha. See i've seen the poser stuff on the sides of cars, like performance labels and FTO badging and stuff. But no poser is gonna put Vacationer on the side of there car, also this thing had white TR Hubs, which look cool and i wanna nick. I know the old duck who owns it and she's not one to spray em, so musta come that way. Looks different, looks alright.

I wonder how the chassis would take a 12 guage vibration throughout it... lol... i wonder how my ear would take that in a refined space. Headlights mostly stop the animals, and just put the foot down and keep movin. Least that's the trick the guide used when i was in Tanzania. Hahahaha. Dono, if a magna could out gun a lion, it has trouble against the Aussie lion (holden). Lol.

That stock wing doesn't look half bad... or half as big either. :P

Someone around here has a Magna Profile, from what I can tell it's nothing special, mostly cosmetic. I know for sure his has body coloured bumpers, so maybe that's it. The decals on the side "Profile" weren't added later on either, straight out of Mitsu like that i've been told.

Or, and this is the theory i'm sticking to, there's nothing at all special about it and it was just a marketing scheme. A bit like the Magna Challenge, it was just a stock Magna TS Exec rebadged.

The TS Magna challenge Came with body colored bumpers, special hubcaps (If i remember correctly) Weathersheilds and the challenge lettering on the side.

Either way it was just dealer option packs....nothing special, no hidden V8;s or anything hhah

SV6 is a Commodore branding... Reminds me of that pic of a third gen floating around with "XR6" on it.

I know where one lives..... not for sale though. It puzzels me everytime i see it. Cause it's the only one that i've seen like it. Not modified in any way that i can tell from the outside. just astock colour coded white V6 magna.

My parents had a gold TR Exec "Profile". Here's a piccy on the day they bought it. I hope it's still getting around somewhere, she was a great car. From memory, it was basically stock standard Exec, i think "Profile" meant nothing except that maybe it was just the pinstriping.

So effectively all "profile" turns out to be is a pinstripe that makes the car look cheaper than a normal exec?

One would hope for the loss in value from the cheapo stickers that it at least had a different seat trim, because the wheel covers are the same, what else are they going to change? Nothing on the outside appears different.

I was looking a buying a 'Profile' before i found my current ride. as far as i could see it was basically an exec with some decals.

V3000 is an NZ model, I've seen a few here with V3000 on them, don't know if they are actually the NZ one or whether it's an Aus Magna just with the sticker?

Maybe the gold paint job was a part of the deal, cos all the profiles i've ever seen (inc shamous's that makes 3) they were all gold with brown interior.

That's so true, how tacky to the pinstripes look. If you look around on youtube the TV add for the Magna Challenge is on there somewhere. Points out the upgrades (personally I've never seen a 2nd gen without air con, but its one of the "free" things they state).

Yeah, the video you're after is probably this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCrRSeEGcDM).

From what I heard just about every car comes with air conditioning as standard, but the dealers still consider it an "extra", even to this day. So what was a "Free Extra" on the Magna was probably standard anyway.
