I think its the ADR Compliance issue with the red reflector, it hasnt got one! If I put on a set of red reflectors on the bar, would it make the lights compliant or would it have to be on the light?

Do a search, I'm sure this has been covered before, And I think you're right, there's something about a red reflector in the ADR's.
But yeah just do a search and I'm sure you'll find the answer.

i was defected once by a highway patrol...old fella...he was kool thow. He defected everything he could but told me exactly how to fix it...
He said to put red reflectors on the bar (eg. vt commos have em like that). But you still have to rid of the clear peice...it looks like a reverse light in the dark.

Putting a red reflector over the clear one would just spoil the point of having clear tail lights
But yes by placing two red reflectors on the rear of the vehicle the tail lights will be street legal.

I contacted ozeparts awhile ago and got them to get in contact with the manufacturer about replacing the clear reflector with a red one. But they couldn't (or wouldn't) do it. And they said that you can't open it up and change it without braking it :? . So when I finally get mine I'm going to try and find some semi transparent red spray paint (like the stuff ppl use to blacken lights) and spray over the clear reflector. I think there was a pic of something like that recently in a thread but I don't know what they used.

It does say for glass only...but you could always give it a try on a piece of perspex or something first to see if it would stick.

That's bloody stupid. If you had the opportunity to make a LEGAL version of your product why the hell wouldn't you.. man.. I would buy a set but would prefer everything to be legal.
I might be wrong here but I don't see why they wouldn't look any good with the reflector either.. as in - that's no excuse. I haven't seen a pair in the flesh but assuming they're the same as the normal tail lights - the reflector is tiny, and it is covered by see through plastic which makes it that little bit more dull.. and it's a relfector.. so it only 'lights up' when there's light on it which means typically at night time.. when the tail lights are going to be on anyway.. meh.

thanks for that. I'll definately give that stuff ago. I would definately pay more $$ for them if they would make them legal and I'm sure more ppl would buy them, and hence get the product some exposure and then make more sales. Some ppl have no business sense
