Carbon fibre ones go well on a black magna I always thought :)

nah either stock, or tinted, or do a full conversion to a KJ bootlid and keep the KJ stock lights, maybe with a light tint (self applied).

personally dont think the carbon ones really do much to the look of a car :doubt:

The tinted ones aren't illegal. They comply to the EU standards on which the ADRs are based.

Do a search and you'll find the thread I did on the different markings on the lights and what they mean. I'm talking about the ones from Grant Walker.

Cheers,

I've got them to. Never had any probs from the boys in blue. They really suit the black car.

KJ Verada lights are sex on wheels literally.

May just take some fiddling to get the reverse light into the blinker.

To be honest I think the older KH Verada lights look better with the boot wrap around.

I may be slightly biased tho :P

I think when they made these they took the colour, shade and reflectivness of the sable black magna as it suits it soo well.

You know you wanna do it.

Except that the OP would require an entire new bootlid to suit his car lol

The tinted ones aren't illegal. They comply to the EU standards on which the ADRs are based...Thanks to CASS-VRXTJ for asking the question and wookiee for posting up a quick response, and his other thread where he details all the ADR stuff (WOW! - lots of reading/research done there mate!)... http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46310

Anyway, I read both threads and still wondered, does this make them legal?
So I emailed the seller (GWP).

This is what he said... (...and, Yes, I have his permission to post it here)
"They aren't specifically ADR'd, but they ARE E marked which means approved for European road use.
I say if that's good enough for Europe, its certainly good enough for us!
Having said that, I haven't had any customers whinging at me that they have been defected due to this specific style of lamp. Possible they may have, and never let me know though.."

So, I'm guessing we'd have a good argument for them being legal. maybe
If they conform to the European standards and our ADRs are based on these standards (hence the use of E4, etc. markings), then they are legal - right?
Or do they still need to be specifically tested in Australia for them to be legal to the ADRs?
If Aussie testing is required, then I guess we better keep that stock set of taillights just in case - because I doubt any of us would have the knowledge/cash/time to perform the full ADR testing that would be required. :doubt:

Either way, they look great! :D

you're right about the testing. I don't have the time, money or inclination to go through with getting these tested to ensure they meet ADRs. but with that said, the ADRs do specifically mention the UN/ECE Regulations, so there may not be a need.

like I've mentioned elsewhere, I actually took my lights to the ACT MVR Inspection Station so they could have a look at them. they checked them out, looked at the E4 markings, and even shone a light into the reflector (which was my main concern) and gave them the OK.

however, I am paranoid about being defected, so I have a copy of the relevant ADRs, and the UN/ECE Regs that they refer to, sitting with my other certification (for other mods) in my car. just in case I get pulled over for a vehicle inspection.

if anyone else wants these, the ADRs are here (http://www.dotars.gov.au/roads/motor/design/adr_online.aspx) (you'll want ADR 1/00 (http://www.comlaw.gov.au/ComLaw/Legislation/LegislativeInstrument1.nsf/0/545E536A915F9675CA2570CA000547D6?OpenDocument), 6/00 (http://www.comlaw.gov.au/ComLaw/Legislation/LegislativeInstrumentCompilation1.nsf/0/EF46385CD8DA1968CA257242007C428C?OpenDocument), 19/02 (http://www.comlaw.gov.au/comlaw/Legislation/LegislativeInstrument1.nsf/0/AF8A06CAA4C93373CA2570D0007C46F6?OpenDocument), 47/00 (http://www.comlaw.gov.au/comlaw/Legislation/LegislativeInstrument1.nsf/0/9157250D9FEBB9F4CA2571640020F585?OpenDocument), 49/00 (http://www.comlaw.gov.au/ComLaw/Legislation/LegislativeInstrumentCompilation1.nsf/0/126CACD27A797216CA2572B2000BE7A4?OpenDocument), and 53/00 (http://www.comlaw.gov.au/comlaw/Legislation/LegislativeInstrument1.nsf/0/684F5229601B9BB0CA2571A700128539?OpenDocument)), and the UN/ECE ones are here (http://www.unece.org/trans/main/wp29/wp29regs1-20.html) (*** Large PDF Warning *** you'll want UN/ECE Reg. 03 (http://www.unece.org/trans/main/wp29/wp29regs/r003r3e.pdf), 06 (http://www.unece.org/trans/main/wp29/wp29regs/r006r3e.pdf), 07 (http://www.unece.org/trans/main/wp29/wp29regs/r007r4e.pdf), and 23 (http://www.unece.org/trans/main/wp29/wp29regs/23rv2e.pdf)).

hopefully this helps someone out, even if only with their decision to buy these.

cheers,
.wook
