Hey All

I have a 2000 VRX and owned since new. Been an excellent car but have had a scraping type of squeek coming from the left front which occours on and off, have had it back to the dealership and different mechanics to no avail. I did see on another website where someone else was having the same problem with a VRX of the same year and had taken it to many mechanics without luck. Anyone else have the same prob & got any ideas?

Scraps when turning? If so its probably the front plastic guard rubbing on the front of the wheel. Ill take a pic tonight and show you what I mean.

Yeah my TJ1 Sports used to do that, happened when i drove away from the traffic lights etc. I took it to the dealer and they told me the front disc was glazed so they skimmed it and it been ok ever since

Yea i had it on my KJ verada after i had it lowered. Turned out it was the battery cover on the front left had a few screws missing and the lid was rattling around every time i went on a bumpy road, a squeeky noise was made and yes annoyed me like you wouldn't believe. But then again i dun think vrx's have a battery cover am i right? so i dunno bout that. :?

The noise is more metal on metal, almost as if there may be a stone caught in the front disc (but have checked that theory a few times!!). The most annoying part is the fact it only does it when it feels like it. It has 17's fitted but no one i have taken it too has suggested that is the problem. Oh well, its a trait i guess i'll have to live with!!

I have had a similar noise coming from my back wheels. Comes and goes depending on the weather, applying the brakes or using my hand brake used to get rid of it while using them. Took my car to the dealer to check it out. What they said and done was clean away all the excess brake dust in the hand brake section, but they did this thru the inspection slot. They said to me that they have found in the past if the remove the drum etc., it can make the problem worse so they leave it alone if possiable. The hand brake pad is like a big C, so he said.
