Howdy
I need to replace the power mast in my TJ Magna antenna, but Mitsubishi can't get just the mast any more. My options are:
1) Pay $179 for Mitsi's to fit a genuine
2) Pay $139 for an Aerpro kit and fit it myself;
3) Pay $32 for an Aerpro mast which fits their kit
I don't really want to replace the whole thing, especially as it looks like (from the pictures) that i'd need to replace everything all the way back to the stereo, which I really don't want to do. However, I don't know if the Aerpro mast is compatible with my genuine antenna motor.
I wouldn't mind replacing with an Aerpro if I dont have to pull/run wiring all the way back to the stereo since if I do happen to damage the mast I know i'll be able to get a replacement. On the other hand, I don't really want to muck around with wiring all the way back, and would rather pay the extra $40 for Mitsi's to install a genuine one for me, but I risk having to replace the whole thing again if I damage the mast again.
My ideal solution will be if the Aerpro mast fits the genuine Mitsi antenna motor - cheapest and easiest overall.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
