Hi all,

Would anyone be able to tell me which model the 120A alternator was fitted to? Will it fit to the 2.6lt or will it require some modifications? Any good magna wreckers in melbourne that will have these, how much do they go for etc??

Pics would be great if anyone has some.

Do any of the newer magnas use anything higher then 120A??

Thanks in advance

my TF uses 140A

if you are unsure, go to Auto Electrician.

there's a good Magna Wrecker in Moreland/Coburg, just look up Yellow pages under Motor wreckers. or Magna ... I found it on the yellow page and it was mentioned here in Victoria forums before, do a search and you shall find!

Only the 4cyl alt will fit due to the slightly different mounting and pulley.

Check pick a part as the 4cyl will fit from tm - ts 2.6

well i want something around 120A so the 4 cylinder one is out of the question. Which models should i be looking at, I don't mind making up new mounts :)

Why don't you just get your existing alternator re-wound to whatever spec you want?

Alternators are fairly generic, so don't limit yourself to Magnas only. I had an XG Falcon Ute (1996) which had a 110A alternator standard. There's only a few different mounting styles, so talk to an auto electrician about what's the best option.

don't wanna get it rewound. :) Would prefer the magna alternator. So could anyone tell me what model the 120A came out in?

according to the mitsu manual the TH/J/L is 110A thats as close as I can get. Might be worth a check of the verada even though the manual says the same sometimes up market cars with heaps of elec goodies have a higher O/P.
