hey all how we doing?

this is something that i noticed last night on my way home from my mothers place on the other side of town.
(to help clarify why i was driving so slow, i was driving the car along on mere fumes in the tank - she was VERY empty last night) anyhow

had the window open, and the radio turned down very low (unusual for me!)
i was driving off slowly and gently from my mothers place, and slowly aroung the corner to avoid the fuel sloshing away from the pickup in the tank.
when going in a straight line, i hear this almost 'light' dragging / rolling sound - coming from the front of the car and i think the drivers side wheel - as i was sticking my head out the window while moving to see if it was front or back.
so sound is almost tiny/light metalic and as i sped the car up and slowed it down the sound changed in accordance.

turning the wheel to the right to go around a corner, the sound dissapeared until the wheels where near on pointing straight ahead again.
turning the car to the left, made no difference in the sound didnt get louder or change in tone etc.

im thinking maybe a dragging caliper or a wheel bearing might be starting to let go maybe?

i never heard the sound before - but i usually have the window up with the a/c on and the music turned up quite... loud to say the least.

is it something to be worried about?
i still have about a month or slightly more left on the Statutory Used Car Warrenty - if its something that i can get mitsu to front for i gotta get in quick!

it wouldnt be a CV joint would it? as they make more a knocking / clicking sorta noise when going around a corner?

cheers :)

i had a similar problem on my awd, and pressing the brake made it go away...

the i took the wheels off and saw the rotors had heat spots all over them... (my guess is yours are fine though)

colud be a million things though, wheel bearing cv's diff tyres disc/pads etc...

stick your head under there and see if anything does what it shouldnt

sorry im not much help

Give your brakes a gentle press to see if its just the pads dragging ...... no biggie.

Jack it up and see if theres any bearing play by grabbing the top and botom of the wheel and rocking it in and out...... It shouldnt move....if it does the bearings may need tightening or replacement.

Get it checked under warranty if your concerned.......any reported fault is still covered until its rectified, even if the warranty runs out

I had the same not long back, machining the rotors solved it.
