I have searched first (as always) and dont seem to find much info that im actually looking for.

Anyway, im car has just clicked over 90k (TJ Magna Sports Manual). Flicking thru the service book it seems I can do more than half of the service myself at home (mainly the fluid changes aswell as brakes).

The things that im not so sure about are the suspension parts of the test. For these is it best to take the car to a workshop and get them have a look over, perhaps a suspension place. Or should I jst take the car to a workshop and get them to the the whole thing ?

the best thing you can do is do the parts of the service that you no how to do the take it for the service and tell them that youve done the oil and brakes etc. and they wont charge you for it.

not to sure but my timing belt got changed at 90 thousand so id look into that if you dont want to have a big bill

hope that helps

dont think it will though

honesty is the key:doubt:  :)

yeah the 90-105 services are the biggies....

do it all at home and get the cam belt done by a mechanic.... looking at approx $450 for a belt change at your local and possible $680 at mitsu!

re: suspension.... pedders suspension safety check $28 from memory... and atleast they will check.... 99% of locals wouldnt really look at it closley, unless shocks are blown or leaky or something is visually wrong..

plugs etc... do yourself and slot in barrys kits at the same time...

im going to get them all soon!

if you do your plugs yourself, note that they live at the bottom of recess which is a very neat fit for a plug socket and you might have difficulty getting the socket out of the recess cos it pops off the square drive easier than it comes off the plug..if I do them again I will grind back the OD of the socket before I start
I recommend putting Platinum or Iridium plugs all around not just the back set..I put Iridium on ..and I would do the leads and a new distributer cover and rotor while I was at it..which is what I did....big difference

Well my thoughts were excalty what you guys have said. Do what I can at home, and then take it to Pedders for the suspension check.

Timing belt is next on my list, it says to do it at 100k, but, I will prob end up getting it done in a week or two.

Any other advice ?

Yeah best to get that belt done a bit early, just to be sure. My logbook shows mine was done at 95k.

being that my car only has 55tho kms on the clock - i havnt yet had the pleasure of the timing belt change as yet..
its prob easier to get it all done at once - do what you can yourself, then pay other people to do the harder bits inc timing belt. then you know that its all done and done have to worry about it for a while :)

I got my timing belt done at 23 thousand k's. mainly due to the age of the car, 94 TS V6.

I think its recommended that it be replaced after 100k or 10yrs (whichever is first).

94 TS with 23k kms?
