Hi Everyone
Im looking at getting some rada tail lights for my VR-X (TJ Series). Can this be done seeing that the set up is different (I know that part) and if so how would you do it. ie radas have the reversing lamps next to the number plate, so if I changed the lamps would I have no reversing lamp??
There is a pair on ebay at the moment and in the pics it looks like the rada tail lights are fitted to a standard magna.... I think
Cheers ppl

theres a couple of ways you can do it, a few peeps hav got it wired so the indicators stay on for reverse. I took the looms outta my tj lights, and drilled an extra hole in the indicator section. So my reverse and indicator are in the clear bit at the bottom, brakes in the big circle and little circle up top doesnt get used. If u do it this way ul need an amber indicator globe as the tj loom uses a clear globe and amber reflector.
Hope that made sense lol.

This to me reads as the easiest and most logical way of doing it.
Use TJ wiring in KJ lights, drill extra hole for reverse lights next to blinker. Change Blinker bulb to Orange. Profit.

seems getting these tail lights is going to be an expensive exercise. I had a look on www.ozeparts.com.au website and they have two different prices for the verada tail lights.
The first description is:
Tail Light
Lens & Body For Sedan Only $282.15
and
Tail Light Assembly $343.20
For Sedan Only
Whats the difference?? Im a bit confused how they list this item
Thanks all

One includes the wiring etc and the other doesnt. (I believe)
You dont need the wiring etc as youll be using the wiring from your TJ lights.

I used the KJ wiring loom which came with the tailights because they connect up fine and all the lights work (reverse excepted of course). When the tailights are on, both the big and little red lights are on and when I brake, the big red lights up.
For reverse, I snipped the reverse loom from a spare TJ loom and wired that to the KJ loom. Drilled a hole in the indicator, hot glued it in place and that was it. I will be finding out next week whether it will pass through rego though...

There were two types of KJ Verada tailights. I'm only guessing here but I believe the $282.15 set came on the EI and XI KJ and arguably are the better looking design. They are a darker red lense and have the red stripes across the clear lense. The $343.20 set have a clearer, glassier and brighter red lense and I think were on the GTV KJ. Again, I'm only guessing though.
Edit: Actually, what Gas_Hed said makes more sense.

Well, if automatics suck, why are you trying to make your car look like one?

Veradas only came in automatic, and your putting Verada parts on your magna, ergo, making it look like a Verada. His point was accurate, you just didnt understand it.

The descriptions are what they are.
The lens and body, is exactly that, a lens and body only, no globes or glode holders.
The tail light assy is a full tail light assy, with globe holders and globes included.
