why just state a price and not say what was included. thats like saying 'took my car into a mechanics, ended up costing me $8k'... (forgot to mention he added a blower while he was there)...
(and for the record, know i didnt do the above ;) )
so yeah, if u want to be of assistance to people, list what got done! i'm guessing major service, timing belt, other belts, maybe a radiator service as well?

I had a Major Service done at 230,000kms, the timing belt and all other belts needed replacing. I had told the Mechanic I didn't have the dollars to spend on it but he went ahead anyways..... Grrrr! I still owe him $800 from the $1600 bill. Pretty much the same all Plugs, oils and fluids changed and the Auto serviced. They also fixed an Oil leak and replaced all brake pads. The only thing it needs now(touch wood) is the switch for the thermo fans to come on, a wheel alignment and new Disk rotors.
BTW the K's I'm getting with the A/C on running on LGP has droppped well below the 300K's a tank mark.

All these parts were fitted at "my request ."
I feel that this part of the motor needs fairly major service every 100,000 km's
Before I asked for the service I estimated the price to be between $1800 - $2200 dollars
so I was pretty happy at the price.
I have estimated it has cost me $22000 per 100,000 km's including fuel, rego, insurance, tyres so $1900 is less than 10% and this does not include depreciation! If you include depreciation your looking at over $30,000 per 100,000 Km's
Happy motoring :D

$1900 for a car thats worth say $6000 - $8000 depending on k's and condition, you just paid over 20% of its total value at least. But if keeping for another 100.000ks it's worth it
It's what comes with ownership of a car and their are some ways to make the cost go down, eg: Learning some basic things such as changing ignition system yourself, changing coolant/oils/ etc
In saying that if not confident about the mechanics of a car dont touch it cause your more then likely to stuff something up.
Not too mention mitsubishi are well overpriced and very expensive on labour, they know the meaning of RRP haha. That same service probably would cost me $1100 - $1400 so not a bad price

sounds about right man. i know servicing magnas cost big unfortunatly.
i just got the timing belt done, acc belts, oil and filter change, radiator flush, front plugs and a general check over the car for $750.
fitting of rear plugs is about $200 alone.
so i wouldnt worry about it too much man, everyone pays it
