hi all.. install a new DVD deck and screen last night (2 single DIN units), all works well except i think i stuffed the wiring up

when the key is out, the deck does not work (which is what's supposed to happen)
but the screen is fully operational and can power up without the ignition key on

anyways.. my question, is this the way it's supposed to be, or have i mated the the red to yellow and the yellow to the red in error... (my thoughts are that both units should be inoperative when the key is out, and will only power up when key is turned to acc)

please advise as i might have to give it another go tonight

I have never known an aftermarket deck to work without being on Acc or with the motor running.

You will know if you stuffed up the constant and the acc wire because the deck will not retain any memory....

when i take the keys out of mine an the screen is still out. i am still able to press the close button an it closes no problem. i cant re open it tho without the keys.
