theres sum 14" sigma rims at my local wreckers that i can pick up for 25 bucks each. the seem to be in pretty good condition.
i dont understand offsets and stuff but i presume they should go straight on. does anyone know if ill be able to swap my tyres off my stock rims onto the sigma rims?

the rims WILL NOT GO ON
The front's wont move as the wheel will be pushed up against the caliper and the backs will rub.

why is this?

different size wheels.
The sigma was RWD, magna is FWD

the wheel size is the same though. the magna has 14s and these sigma wheels are 14s

Offset could well be different, wrong offset will have the calipers fouling on the inside of the wheel.
magna rims will not fit on a scorpion as my mate found out. wheel was fouling on the suspension unit. i'd say sigma would be the same.
offsets are different.

Oh yeah I tested with a scorpion to, didn't work either way.

actually the offset is the other way around. the rims will fit your car but they will stick outside the guards. you can only try them and if you like them then get flares.
and yes your tyres will fit onto the rim pending the width of them.

this is wat i thought, as i have seen sigma rims on a magna before. im hoping they dont stick out far enough to touch the rear guard. but i will put one on to test it before buying.

why bother with the 14" mags cos it will just look like you keep good care of your hubcaps:D
Unless u have a reason\need for 14's otherwise if i was you id just sit on your money till you can find a cheap set of 15's.
i paid100 bucks for maga elite rims plus postage grr and after a clean and paint they came up ok. unless thats the point not having factory mags.

I put a sigma stockie on the front of my magna, smacked the caliper.
Dunno if its the same with alloys

well i want to bother with the 14s for a couple of reasons. atm i only have 2 hubcaps cos my mates are always stealing them and sumtimes i dont get them back for months like in the current case (i hate driving around with no hubcaps). and i dont want factory alloys cos then my magna would look like everybody elses magna in this town. theres only one first gen with aftermarket rims on it. the rest all have the atom rims i think and another factory rim but im not sure what its called. atleast having sigma rims i would atleast be different. plus i like the rims.
i will be trying them on both the back and rear. but its the rear im expecting to have problems as the guard is lower at the back.
heres a pick

they don't look too bad. If they fit a polish and clear would do a world of wonders. Yea know what you mean by atleast something different. I just think they look a tad small and I'm sure if you have a look around the wreckers you might find some 15"s that will fit.
but thats just one opinion :D

theres a set of sigma turbo rims which are 15s at our wreckers here. and they are alredy on a magna. so i know they will fit. but all the tyres need to be replaced. and they want 500 for the 4 rims. im going to adelaide next week so ill keep my eyes open there. but if i come back with nothing and the sigma rims fit, i will probably get them.

hopefully ur trip is fruit full. I wounldn't pay more than 50 bucks per rim from the wreckers for 15'' alloys. my 15'' elite rims where 100 bucks for 4 and they needed 3 tyres off a member here. mind you to post was 150 for brisbane to cairns but thats still 250 for 15'' alloys.
good luck on ur hunt dude

I've always been interested in the look of the pepperpots on a first gen.
And, I too, have Atom rims.

i actually seen a first gen with a set of those sigma rims on today. i guess that answers the question; will they fit or wont they?
Nah, the GK GSR rims. I can't find a pic, though.
