Looking at upgrading the exhaust in my TJ. It already has the standard sports muffler on it, and I want to get a set of extractors. The standard piping looks pretty good, and the sports muffler is a straight through jobbie already, will I get any benefits in changing these if I get new headers? Or will the gains be so small that it won't be worth the cost?
Cheers, Aaron

the headers are the main restriction in the exhaust apart from the rear muff....
You should see gains without changin the rest of the exhaust.:D

Thanks mate. Ill just get the headers done for now then, maybe upgrade the rest later. Saves me a bit of coin. So what is a good brand of extractors. I'm looking more at increasing midrange torque more than top end power.

I'm prety sure that the longer the pipes the better the low end to middle , but thats not to say it will hurt the top end. Compare whats available, :D

no need to waste your money on the rest at all. I did and wish i spent money elsewhere. Just do extractors and spend the rest somewhere else

Never heard a magna with headers done...
Is the exhaust note very much louder?

You'll find most makes for most cars tend to recognise the reality of driving in our police state nation - ie., they concentrate on yielding low and mid range hit rather than top end gains you can't use.
I've tried Pacemakes and Perrys. The Pacemakers are better made by far and give a very obvious low and mid range boost, with small gains at the top end.
RPW make a number of different designs too. Others in this forum have them and may be able to offer opnion....

Hello,
Yeah you'll pretty much find its a coin toss between RPW and PaceMakers.
RPW - more expensive but more ...potentialllll.
PaceMaker - less expensive but sacrifice ...potentialllll.
