hey
i was just wonderin when mitsubishi introduced the 5/10year warranty, was lookin at an 05 TW on the weekend, and i asked about the warranty and was told the TW came out with a 3year warranty, and that the 5/10year didnt come out until 06. now i thought the 5/10 came out in late04/early05, could b wrong, also was it an optional extra or was it on all models.
any info would b appreciated.
cheers
Mat.

Methinks it was some time in 2004.

Should still have plenty of warranty on it.

iirc its a 3 year warranty and in the last year u have to take it to a mitsu dealer and they validate the warranty for another 2 years. so make sure that gets done.

some cars before 1 jan 2004 got 5 years as well, mitsu contacted owners whos cars were in warranty in 2004 to upgrade to 5 years. i got my TJ new in dec 02 and got it extended to dec 07.

I own a TW 2005 and got it dirt cheap through a family member, unfortunately for me i lost the added 5 yrs in the 5/10 for changing owners names from my Dad to me :disgusted but it was worth it for the price i got it tho.
But the deal seems to be you get 3 years and as long as the vehicle has had it's books and servicing kept up then you will get the extra 2 years bringing it up to 5 years in total.

The 5/10 Warranty came in in December 2004 as i286 has suggested.

Hope this helps !

It's a moot point as the additional 2 years warranty isn't transferable from memory.

If you buy an ex executive driven car like i have you get the balance of the 10 year powertrain warranty. Bonus i say! :D
