100mm at the lowest point on the body. I believe this includes mudflaps.

Must also retain 2/3 of original suspension travel.

So if i ask the blokes to drop it 400m will that look really different to standard height given that the springs will lower the car anyway? Also will it be a lower height than the standard height of the vrx?

I have an 03 Tl as you can probably tell from the pic.

100mm is correct...

Mudflaps? Nah... Take them off if you're worried, ground clearance is just exhaust, mechanical components, chassis components and whatever other solid object that is attached to your car down there.

With regard to lowering your third gen... Put superlows all around, lows you will hardly notice the difference.

100mm is correct... yes.. also don't forget.. it must be 100mm with a full load. Which means 4 grown passengers'

edit: also.. king no longer make superlows for the rear.

Pretty sure Superlows are just too low in regards to the 2/3 suspension travel rule.
Lows all round will be good :).

If you drop it 400m the car will be half way to china! :bowrofl:

Presuming you mean 400mm, I would imagine that'd be a decent amount lower than a stock VRX, they aren't really that low either stock.

Do they really count mud flaps in the 100mm from the ground thing? Thats kinda silly, the mud flaps aren't gonna touch the ground because they're so close to the wheels, unless of course your on bags :P

At 400m I think the wheels might scrub a little.

At 400mm, thats awesomely low you do notice. As a matter of fact I don't think you can actually go that low. The ride height of a stock standard Magna is like 290mm. So in all reality I think you're talking 40mm, in which case, I got the same drop (Pedders). It's legal AFAIK. I haven't had a problem with clearance or anything. Hopefully this helps some.

As for scraping the mudflaps, I used to do it continuously after I dropped my Magna. I eventually took the damn things off, was scary when you go around the corner and hear the mudflaps scrape and skip on the ground.

We've been using the metric system for what?? 60 odd years in this country?? Good to see everyone has such a firm understanding of it.

Was just thinking the same thing... I blame the education department.

i droped mine 2" when i first got it but left the original stock/old struts in and it eventually sagged a hell of a lot. With 3 bigish people in the back it sat on the stops and the frount was not far from it.

So i got a really sharp pocket knife and trimmed the mud flaps allong the seam. Looked good. Now they are totally gone ....

This is turn led to my brother snapping the drive shaft through the gearbox. w00t!

Anyway. Baggs are the way to go lol but some say im

the 100mm rule is correct, but as choonga mentioned thats with max seating capacity and luggage for the 5 occupants and fuel

also 2/3rds original bump travel, the bumpstops are about 80mm std so you can put some low profile ones in there for more travel

Basically has to be about a beer can height off the ground at the lowest point (roughly).

also check with your insurance company as to how low they will let you go. no point getting it lowered only to find out if you crash that you aren't covered.

That's what I'm going to do when I lower my car, trim off the black bits on the otherwise colourcoded mudflaps.
