Well im changing my front wheel studs on my TJ. Got to the part of pulling the studs out and im in trouble. The studs are loose but cant get them out of the holes as the hub assembly is in the way behind the studs. How do i over come this.? How do i pull hub out or apart enough the get studs out of the hub.?

Now my studs are NOT damaged or broken. i am putting longer studs in as i need too.

Any help..?

Thanks
Jason

pull the brake caliperand disc of and then there should be a big **** of nut in the center of the hub undo that and the hub should pull of be carful not to damage wheel bearing the studs are on spines and shud just come out with a hammer.(if you are doing this to put spacers in between hub and wheel think twice about it)

So what.? grind a small groove in the hub to be able to slide studs out one at a time..?? is that what u mean..?? I know they only just wont come out.. couple of mm off.

How easy does the hub assembly come apart..? once i drop the CV nut it doesnt just drop off. do i need to press it out..?? if i can get it loose i will be able to slide studs out as they are only mm away from comin out now..

if you only need a few more mm and you haven't already cut the studs, you could cut them down almost flush with the hub and then punch them out. otherwise your probably going to have to remove your hubs.

Like i said i have got to the point of getting the loose stud out of the hole. I know how to get it loose and what not but you cant just push them out like everyone is saying. hub has to be pulled apart. Thats the part people dont understand. stop telling me to just knock them out as it doent work like that on a MITSUBISHI TJ MAGNA FWD FRONT HUBS.

Now my question is how hard is it to pull hub assembly apart to get studs out of the hub..

M4DDOGs thread was crap..:P

Getting them out wont be a massive issue as yest at worst i can cut them down. how do i get knew ones in if i cut the old ones out..??
