Something is missing or wrong with my remote central locking system.

Bought my rada, no keyless remote (alarm works fine when i lock with the keys, security light comes on and arms car etc. alarm will sound if i open boot with key etc.)

Logical progression: Bought a new, genuine, keyless entry remote. will not program to my car (three flicks on and back from acc. to on), blinkers dont flash to register programming mode. Took it to mitsu dealer, they couldnt get it to pair either. BTW Its a three button remote, im sure its the right one.

Had a look under my boot (inside) there is a small grey module (which i think is the wireless module) with a red wire disconnected, im assuming thats power for that module. When i plug it in, my LEFT BLINKERS COME ON WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHTS when a door is opened. WTF!!!! - and the remote still wont pair to the car.

Any ideas? Should I take it to an auto-electrician, I dont know any near me who are particularly good with mitsu's. Mitsubishi dealer is like $100 an hour to look at it or something. (I live in Glenorie, near castle hill in Syd by the way.)

What are your thoughts guys? I can post pictures tomorrow if you need to see what im talking about.

Cheers in advance.

Update:

it isnt the grey module that has a wire disconencted, there is a regular black relay sitting next to i with the wire d/c.

lol i had no idea my xi even had an alarm because someone fitted an aftermarket immobiliser .. til one day my mrs locked the door by pushin the lock down and holding the handle out while shutting it .. which activated the dormant factory alarm system (also done by key which i didnt know) .. so next morning nice and early i'm off to work and i press my remote button ... door locks pop up and the factory alarm thinks *****! a burgular!! then the horn goes lol BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP i had no idea you just put the key in the lock and turn to disable ... i ended up disconnecting the horns and driving to work later finding out about the key ... lol memories

Bump!

Dropped into an auto-electrician today, who told me to take it to Mitsubishi.

I dont want to pay $100/hr for them to look at it!

Does anyone know of any auto-electricians in northwest Sydney? preferably good with mitsubishi and reasonably priced....

Have you tryed three flicks from off to on? Every car I've ever programmed a remote with does it like this, not acc to on.

Umm are you sure the car came with remote central locking?

Maybe you have an after market unit installed...

Remote central with immobiliser is stock on the KS Xi. Really, if Mitsu can't make it work, somethings wrong with your locking system...maybe go aftermarket?

I'm not sure about the 94 model, but mine is a dec 93 model and the only remote entry it had from the factory was an infrared remote on the key. You can tell if you have this by looking at the drivers door ... there will be a little black circle .. thats the sensor .. if you have this i would probably get an after market keyless entry added rather than hunt down an otherwise silly infrared remote (silly in the sense that you could only pop it once you were tv distance away from your door.
