Hi all
I think the stereo gave up the ghost today (Turned it on and it crashed nothing would work on it and wouldn't turn off until I took its fuse out).
Anyway what are some good 2DIN HUs out there for me?
Questions:
1. Should I go the single DIN route and get extra storage
2. Should I get another 2DIN?
3. If recommend 2DIN please tell me what I should go for from your experience. My budget is no more than $400 and I want something that foremost 'fits' in with the dash style i.e. something neat minimal stock looking no flashy super dooper models for me.
4. And no no DVD plz I don't need to crash.
Regards,

Sorry just realised there is a Car Audio section. Dumb mule syndrome.
I like double-DIN units, because for the "over-25" crowd, who still have a large stash of cassette tapes, it allows me the flexibility of playing a tape when I feel the need/want, as well as being able to play CD's/MP3's as well.
I bought the FH-P5000MP Pioneer double-DIN unit and I am absolutely rapt with it! I can't recommend it more. The sound is very 'tunable, so basically anyone can adjust all the settings to get the sound to their liking. You will be surprised how much it improves the sound quality of factory speakers -- What model Magna do you have?
It also has an AUX plug, which I have wired up to a generic 3.5mm plug, so you can plug in a laptop, iPod, MP3, etc.etc.
It is on e-bay for about $350 at the moment which is an absolute steal, considering they were $800 upon release barely 18 months ago!

I don't have a suggestion on a unit to buy, but definitely go the double-din route. Looks a lot nicer than a single-din plus a gaping hole in the dash.

Yeah I like it. CD + ipod interface(seperate cost) + USB + Aux input + remote control + a few other extras on the back. No mods needed to the dash either. Just fitted where the factory one was!!

My fear is the fit in the dash. I don't know if there'll be gaps or if the stereo has to be brought forward (looking like a hackjob) or if ill have to cut some plastic to make it fit like it so nicely does with the stock head unit. Any experience there?
Regards

The factory unit is a double din anyway. With an aftermarket unit ,you wont have to cut anything to make it fit. Mine doesnt stick out from the dash at all.
