Hi Everyone, Just thought id post up some photos of my magna. I have owned it for a little over a year now and its taken a while to do some mods to it, but anyway heres the photos. They are a bit crappy, my GF took the digital camera when we split haha. So I'm stuck with camera phone.

2nd Photo - VY Commodore Gear Shifter & Leather Boot
3rd Photo - EL Dials from the 'Group Buy' last year
4th Photo - VY Commodore Interior Map Lights

Other than the fact you attacked the back of your Magna with chrome badges it looks great!! Dark tinting really sets it off.
Where abouts did you get the VRX bumper?
Really like that auto stick, so much better than stock. That's definitely going on my so-to-do mods list.

HAHA, Does it really look that bad??
I got the kit from Ebay ($650), and the TH/J bar from a bumper place in Melbourne ($99).

Na it doesn't look that bad, I've just become a debadged convert :P
I do like the small Mitsu badge on the top of the boot though, was that from eBay or Mitsu spare parts?
Cheers mate, and once again your car look great!

Mate my car will look so similar to yours when finished - I have the same rims (in 18s and gunmetal) and I'm going to put the same kit on. Only difference will be a letterbox grille and the colour.
Can you please PM me the contact details of the bumper place in melbourne? Cheapest ive found so far was mitsubishi parts for $150

I have attached a photo of the shifter without the boot, as you can see, it would look like absolute crap without the leather.
So what does the Calais interior light offer that a Verada one doesnt?
I think the lights are a bit bigger & brighter with the Commodore lights. But other than that, nothing i guess just the sunglasses holder haha. I just dont like the look of the Verada lights, i think they look old.
Can you please PM me the contact details of the bumper place in melbourne?
I found the store originally on EBay, but you can just go in there and they will fix you up. The details are Just Bumper Bars, (http://stores.ebay.com.au/Just-Bumper-Bars), open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm, Mob: 0416 045 088, Ph: 03 97067110, Email bumpabar@bigpond.net.au. I cant remember what street it was in but it was in Dandenong.
I reckon paras and a letterbox grill would suit it to a tee though
I really dont like the letterbox grilles, i think they look untidy, but yeah parras are next on the list. Hopefully within the next two weeks, ill be getting the parras and a new exhaust, looks pretty silly at the moment. Im surprised no one has said anything about it.

Its not actually missing, its just coz the VRX kit has a straight exhaust and the standard magnas have the exhaust blow sorta out the bottom.

Ive had the tint on for a few months now, im used to it now i think. I had 8% on the back window as well at first but it blocked out so much light. Now with the 32% rear and nothing on the front a good amount of light shines through from the moon and stuff. Its really not as dark as it looks in the photos.

I dont see why not, just need to get the angle and mounting holes in the same position, if they are different, me thinks a 2 mm thick plate steel should suffice, i seen this done on a excel using some other models handbrake, just a thought

I believe it does, i'm going to do a trail fit and if it doesn't work either take it back or sell it on ebay. To buy the parts brand new from a dealer: $60.25 for the shifter, $40 for the handbrake.

Ebay in the US, i organised a huge group buy of them ages ago and got them quite cheap, but buying them individually you're looking at $40 roughly.

Hey I just attempted to install the auto shifter in my Verada and after removing the button, spring and rubber thingy I can't see the bolt you refer to. All I see is a yellow thing that the button presses down to change between P/R/N/D/etc. What am I missing?
jtauelangi
19-11-2007, 09:24 AM
ok everyone, i have just looked again on my car. I put this thing on ages ago, and when i wrote the instructions it was even a lil; bit after i had actually done it.
I think from memory, you pull the button off using two knives on each side, revealing the skinny plastic tuby bit that goes up and down, and two lil screws on the inside. Take the two lil screws out, and the black plastic bit should be able to come out. Now unscrew the nut that you will see when the black plastic bit is out. You may have to loosen the nut at the bottom of the gear lever bit too. Once the top nut is loose, your shifter should just lift off.
It would be easier to explain, if i had my old shifter here, coz maybe im forgetting a step and its stuffing you all up.

Get some pliers and pull that plastic thing out. grip it by the bits sticking up, not the button trigger thing the black parts. the nut is under it.

Ok I got it off, there was a screw in plain sight towards the dash holding it on! Took that out and it slid right off. There is no nut that I can see anywhere.
Problem is there is nothing to hold the VY shifter on. The screwhole on the silver stick is barely 2mm deep, and doesn't hold the screw at all.

A TF gearstick must be different to yours, i didnt have a screw in the side of it to hold it on. I just had the plastic bit at the top, took that out and there was a nut there. Once i took the nut off the shifter slid off. Then i put the Commodore shifter on, put the nut back in, put the plastic bit from the commodore shifter in, put the lil screws back in and clipped the top button back in.
I cant post any pics, coz my phone is being stupid and it wont con nect to the computer.

Nope, no nuts or anything. The way the original attaches is basically you slide it on and the shape inside the grip stops it spinning, and there is a screw hole in the grip that holds the screw in the tiny hole on the silver stick thing to stop it sliding off. Take a look at my photos above to see what I mean.

Yeah, i guess TF sticks are different. Well mine is anyway ahha. no wonder no one knew what i was talking about with this nut thing. TF's must be the only ones with nuts :) the rest of them must just get screwed :D
